Loved the 'fresh, hot water pool' and would've preferred the mineral pool. Hopefully the other three pools did have people in it rather than they closed the door rather than leave it open when finished. Lovely location close to my friend's house at Waihi Beach. Didn't get to encounter the rest of Tokaanu. Definitely needs to be another visit.

The new owners of the historic 76 year old Oasis Motel Tokaanu have in the 12 months from July 2021 extensively renovated all rooms adding kids playground, chlorinated pool, gymnasium and guests lounge cafe were they can relax with breakfast or have a game of pool or table tennis whilst sipping a barista coffee. The Oasis Tokaanu has the most geothermal pools out of any Motel around Lake Taupo.
