Monument Valley is 1 hour 20 minutes’ drive from the motel. Mesa Verde National Park is a two-hour drive from the Stone Lizard Lodge.

The Stone Lizard has thee BEST breakfast of any hotel we stayed at during our long road trip. The lovely Teagen greeted us upon arrival. Our room was excellent. We had a full kitchen, bathroom, living room and even a bit of an outdoor area. We were amazed to find the kitchen full not just of condiments but also of different food items. The Stone Lizard is a picturesque out-of-the way boutique hotel that I would highly recommend.

There was everything you need for a short stay. The motel has an old school vibe which was somehow charming. They even had a complimentary breakfast wich was not mentioned while booking.

Very friendly owners. Clean rooms with everything I needed. They offer free breakfast by the way. Simple but good. Fresh fruits, Toast, hard boiled eggs, French Toastvand cereals I think. Definitely one of the better 2star motels, and I would stay there again.

BEST NIGHT SLIEEP, restful bed, so far! Been to 6 different motels on this trip, several newer ones. This older motel's bed provided the best rest!

A small motel, you feel like you are stepping back in time. With that said, the decor matches the area and suited me. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet. The bed was comfortable. I enjoyed having a couch to sit on and a table in which to eat breakfast. I would stay at this property again.

Such a special place. My room was adorable and so thoughtfully decorated. It was as snug and comfy as could be. Breakfast is a huge step up from the usual motel fare. Staff was super nice. Some reviewers have mentioned the lack of restaurants in town…there’s a really nice supermarket a mile down the road. Loved my stay here.

Very outdated & some upgrades & repairs needed. The door did not close, unless fully deadbolted. Blinds in bathroom broken. Showerhead pulls out of wall if touched. A/C never actually blew COLD air. Had to keep the very loud A/C unit on all night just for some minimal airflow, (Though didn't get cold), because the room had a bad smell to it. The lace had an overall "Bates Motel" vibe. Creepy!
