The service is probably the best I've experienced in Japan; it's personalised, helpful and friendly, without feeling overbearing. The food is absolutely amazing and the dining experience feels like you're being transported to a traditional, authentic Japan, which is a rare thing for modern ryokans to achieve. It’s definitely worth paying extra for the meal. The town has so many beautiful walks and looks great in blossom season.

In particular, the gentleman who speaks English, he made sure to always check in with us / follow through with whatever we needed.
