Providing free private parking, the 3-star ryokan is 3.8 km from Ayako Miura Literature Museum. The accommodation provides a sauna, hot spring bath, family-friendly restaurant and free WiFi.

The sauna and bath are great. The futon is great. The breakfast starts at 7am but I check-out early at 630am because the bus from Takasagodai-8-chome departs at 7.11am. They allow early breakfast anyway. The breakfast was delicious. The staff did not understand English but very quick thinking to use Google translate - no major issue.

Looking for a property with onsen?

Featuring traditional Japanese hot springs known as ‘onsen’, these hotels allow you to take a relaxing soak in therapeutic geothermal waters. Traditionally, onsens were located outdoors but a number of hotels also offer indoor facilities for private or shared use. The healing properties of each onsen will vary depending on its location, with ‘kuroyu’ black water known for its positive effects on skin.

The free onsen in the reception building was the highlight. Our cottage and the rest of the property was kept very clean. Beds were comfy.

Location couldn't be better - directly next to the train station, shops and eateries very close. Room was very cosy and clean, the breakfast was an amazing selection and the onsen (hot spring) was delightful.

Located right next to Aeon mall which is super convenient with plenty of food options. Train and bus station is also connected to the building for those using public transport. Very nice indoor and outdoor onsen. There is also a lounge where you can drink coffee/tea and chill. Rooms are clean and modern.

The hosts were lovely, the space was very clean, and breakfast was delicious. This was my first ryokan experience in Japan and it set the bar extremely high. Excellent value and would absolutely recommend!

Location is superb. We used JR trains and JR Inn is right next to the JR Asahikawa station. There is also a big Mall Aeon below the hotel. I did all my souvenir and food shopping at the mall. Love the outdoor and indoor onsen. The lounge is also great for relaxation after soaking in the onsen. You can make a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy the view of the city.

Great amenities, there were a lot of areas to explore in the Ryokan and it was kept very clean. They have a DDR machine (note the opening hours though) and a manga shelf (which is cool even if we couldn't read Japanese). The futon and chairs are comfortable and the rooms are gorgeous. The onsen has some unique baths, and an outdoor pool area looking out to the city. The staff are very nice, note also they only speak Japanese, and I got the impression this is a stay frequented more by locals than tourists.

Great location. Super close to the main station and main street for shopping. Very clean and new room. The breakfast is also above average. The hot spring is also excellent as with music when staying in the roof.
