We came to the Sannouzan Onsen Zuisenkyo to experience a traditional japanese inn with an onsen. The staff was so friendly and even though we couldn't speak japanese they made us feel comfortable and welcome! The onsen was extremely nice, with 3 different baths outside and 3 inside. Rooms were super nice with comfortable beds and very clean. You get free water, tea and little sweets everyday, which is very nice. Overall it's perfect to relax and enjoy nature, with interesting shrines and temples just 30min away. The highlight was definitely the welcoming staff and the great service!

Absolutely loved the hot spring baths, both indoor and outdoor, and it was great to have bath options between whirlpool, ultrasound, bubbles, herbal, etc. The staff were super knowledgeable about the area and provided lots of insider local information about when popular restaurants would sell out, how to get places, and so on. Very helpful and kind.

I had an amazing stay there. The host were extremely friendly and tried to speak with me as much as possible, even though I can barely speak any Japanese. The room was a nice traditional style Japanese room with tatami and futon. The breakfast was amazing and probably the most nutritious breakfast I had in my entire life. Furthermore as already mentioned by other people they take you to the local onsen and restaurants by car. Overall a fantastic experience. Be aware: Due to the nature of the house it can get very cold in the room in winter. However the host will give you a heated mattress, an oil heater and multiple blankets to combat the low temperature which worked very well for me.
