This place is magical. One of the highlights of our 3 week Japan trip was staying at Ks. Everyone was friendly, the room was spotless, the communal areas were clean and well kept and the onsens fabulous. We had a family room and all slept very well on tatami mats and futons. We used both the private and public onsens. The room is spacious and the outlook over the stream at night is sensational. We were fortunate to be there when they had a fireworks display on the beach which was awesome.There is also a washing machine and dryer for 500yen which really helped having a family of 5. If you are looking for a traditional stay and a truly memorable experience this is it.

We had a wonderful stay at the Isana Resort. The rooms are fairly simple but with great individual open air hot tubs with soothing mineral spring water. What stood out the most were the wonderful staff who work there and the most amazing meals we had in our entire trip. Chef Hide Kurosawa is a young energetic chef with talent beyond his years. His Maui roots gave us islanders an instant connection with him. The food was sublime; a French Japanese fusion of amazing flavors with the freshest of ingredients. The dining room has a display of the wagyu beef aging and local fish drying. Both dinner and breakfast were fantastic. The staff, especially Vivian, was so welcoming and accommodating. Vivian’s English is terrific and she was so service oriented and cheerful always. We felt like we were visiting long lost relatives. The resort is on a cliff side overlooking the ocean adjacent to small winding streets and the coastal road. We had a car, which made the stay there more convenient as it would be more difficult to tour the gorgeous Jagosaki Coast without wheels. There is nothing in the world like lying in mineralized hot spring water, looking at the stars and hearing the sound of the waves. In addition to our room’s hot tub we could reserve the private onsen for use and it was never busy.

Everything! You will not find a more authentic Japanese experience than this inn! I wish we had stayed longer. Everything was perfect. Unfortunately it rained for two days straight… so our sightseeing was cut short…. But staying here totally made the trip worth while!! From the welcome at reception, to the amazing view from our room and everything in between… it was perfect. We stayed in a room with a hot spring bath in the bathroom. The dinner and breakfast were delivered to our room. The “kitchen” staff were gorgeous! The futons were comfortable, and everything was spotless. We tried the open air bath at night. Such a different experience in the rain. Sitting in a warm bath, under the roof, listening to the rain falling! It was so peaceful. The owners are very kind and gracious. They are the 5th generation of the family to own the ryokan. They even offered us a lift to the station in the morning and helped us with an issue that we had with our tickets. I am definitely returning in the future!

The hot springs are phenomenal, so warm and gentle on the skin, very private and relaxing. As if that wasn't God enough on its own, the meals are so versatile, interesting, and delicious, similar to how and what you'd expect to experience in a michelin star restaurant. The staff is attentive and very kind, explaining things slowly, removing the language barrier, entirely, asking often for your preferences and your feedback, as well as providing maps and recommendations for things to do nearby. I would give them 6 stars if I could.

The property was really very nice. It was a bit difficult to get to, but we were recommended a taxi from the station and that worked fine. The days after we came we used a free shuttle bus, but they were only 1-2 times a day. That worked fine for us. The food was lots and was REALLY excellent, we were titally stuffed both for dinner and breakfast. The room was big enough for a japanese property. Outdoor and indoor onsen bath with private access by booking is nice for couples of families. Access is easiest with car, but we wanted somewhere a bit more isolated and it worked out even without.

別荘ということで清潔感があるかどうか心配でしたが、しっかり清掃されており快適に宿泊することができました。設備も十分なので、また機会があれば泊まりたいと思う別荘です。

There is also free parking available which is helpful as you might not be able to get here pretty easily without a car. Restaurants and shops are also mostly reachable with a car. The host let us use the washing machine which was extremly helpful. The outdoor private balcony, hot spring tub was magnificent. The dinner exceeded all expectations. The location of stunning. I cannot say enough.

The atmosphere is surreal, the place very clean and the staff super nice and helpful. We chose the double room with private veranda on the river and we were so happy! We also got to try their private onsen, as well as one of the outdoor onsen they suggest, and were amazed by the experience. The hotel was i a perfect location to reach any place of interest in Ito.
