The renovated rooms combined the modern with the traditional. It was very spacious, the hot spring tub in the room was a big plus, but we also made use of the free private baths. The food served was with high quality ingredients and with a lot of variety, although for an european some dishes are very strange. Nevertheless it was an experience worth trying. The area around is very beautiful and peaceful.

It was close to the bus stop so I didn’t get too wet in the rain. It was also very close to Shuzenji temple where I visited. Restaurants were close by. The breakfast had the largest buffet selections of delicious Japanese food. I got to ride an e-bike for the first time which made for faster travel in the hilly town in the iffy weather—there was a thunderstorm at night but clouds during the day. There were many family activities available in the hotel. No shoes allowed in hotel, put them in locker and walk around in socks or bare feet.

The staff were incredibly friendly and were extremely kind in letting my cycling friends and I park our bikes in a safe place overnight. My room was on the second floor so I had access to the balcony/veranda overlooking the river. I was able to enjoy a nice cold drink overlooking the river after a nice hot bath and had my breakfast there in the morning. Luxurious moments!

They do all and everything to make your stay memorable. The public onsen in the ryokan was great, very serene atmosphere. The room was huge, with a private onsen. All the facilities are very clean. The food (dinner and breakfast) is amazing, tasty and beautiful. The city is nice and quiet, great to walk around. There is a small bamboo forest, a river runs thru it, nice buildings. Picturesque!

The guests were mostly Japanese, and as guests from China, we received special attention from them. The meals they serve are nice. The boss found out that my child could not eat raw fish, so she offered to cook it for her. The hotel's hot springs are also very clean. There is a bus stop near the hotel and it is easy to get around. There were many small crabs in the surrounding fields, which made the child very happy.

Absolutely wonder rooms with view of the Kano river and the private onsens were the icing on the cake! While most onsen resorts only allow you to use their provate onsens by reservation & limited no. of times per stay, Tatsuta Ryokan lets you use the 4 private onsens how many ever times you want depending on availability!
