The room was huge, We were able to spread out quite comfortably and had ample space to organize our luggage. The room also had a small balcony that overlooked a river that had cherry blossom trees in bloom along it. Overall it was a very relaxing atmosphere. We had the breakfast included option and I was quite surprised at the portion size served. There were a couple days I couldn't finish it (though I don't usually have breakfast so my appetite might be a little small) but my partner seemed satisfied. Every morning was a different breakfast for us, which we appreciated. It was mainly Japanese style food with some Western touches. This ryokan is deep in the country in a small, quiet area. There are three or four onsens within walking distance, as well as a small hike with a view of the bay in the distance. There is a community center/onsen newly built about a 10 minute walk away with nice facilities and extremely cheap E-Bike rental. We had a lot of fun biking around the full bloom cherry blossom trees and small residential streets. I really enjoyed the onsen water here as well. It almost feels slippery and your skin and hair feel super smooth after bathing.
Hinotani Onsen Misugi Resort 3 stars

We styed one night at the hotel. Overall the hotel is bit dated, but the room was clean and futon were very comfortable. Breakfast was really good. Lots of choices. Calm location. We enjoyed the onsen.

The breakfast is nice too, although not many choices but is sufficient , got some nice choices like fish sashimi. We dont like the waygu beef slices, so so. But they offer steamed tofu, steamed egg, curry, and udon are very good. Wish they offer fresh grind coffee instead of those instant coffee . We like how shower room is separate from the toilet. There were several indoor hot spring poo, a small cold pool, a sauna, and indoor and outdoor hot springs pools. The showers had soaps available too. Excellent onsen. Remember, onsens are nude. They have the traditional clothing you can wear and a large and small towel and foot wear also. The food was enjoyable and the staff very friendly.
