Sentry Mead Hotel, pet-friendly hotel in Totland

Situated in Totland Bay on the Isle of Wight, this award-winning, fully licensed, property offers free Wi-Fi in all areas and benefits from free private parking on site. A charming Victorian villa, it is just 100 metres from the beach and just one mile from The Needles landmark attraction.

There is cycle storage on site for those wishing to bring their bikes, and a dog-friendly section of beach opposite the building. Freshwater Bay Golf Course is a 5-minute drive away.

We would definitely come here again! Gayle and Mark are wonderful hosts- there is nothing you could want for in the Sentry Mead- they have literally thought of EVERYTHING! The rooms are tastefully decorated, have mini-fridges, snacks and mugs for tea and bathrobes. Downstairs there is a bar room with drinks and snacks on the honour system and upstairs a Nespresso machine. The downstairs lounge is comfortable and inviting, as is the conservatory, terrace and garden area. You are a three-minute walk from the beach and trekking routes. There are restaurants and shops nearby as well as a bus stop, from where you can catch several different buses to explore the island. It is quiet and peaceful, but wonderfully accessible to tourist sights and other points of interest. And the breakfasts are outstanding!

    Absolutely loved the view overlooking the sea and stunning sunsets. The enclosed garden and patio was a real bonus as it is very pet friendly so could sit outside and relax whilst they could have a wander and a sniff. Facilities excellent, everything you need for a comfortable stay. Cooking facilities, kettle, seating inside and out, comfortable bed, it’s got it all. Lovely bar/restaurant a short 2 min stroll away. Very quiet which was perfect. Wish we could have stayed longer. Has a car park space. We will be back we hope!

    The hosts were receptive and professional yet very welcoming and personable. And dog friendly which was everything for me. John Pierre the owner was so kind and shared his personal story with us which helped us connect with him, and his wife was lovely too.

    Location is super- Bus station just around corner and it only takes15min to go to needles attraction. Convenience store just in front of the property which is easy. Not far from coast side of Hut restaurant which is the best place to having lunch/dinner. The facilities are super super clean- if you like new and quite then this the right place to go. Just need to make sure you have book the main room but not the smaller one, though I am not sure how to do so.

    Everything else in the house was perfect. Very tastefully decorated and full of home comforts. Kitchen well stocked with crockery and cutlery. The welcome basket was a very nice addition. The secure garden was a godsend for our two dogs. The rooms are a very decent size. The beds are easily the most comfortable we have used outside of our own home. Fantastic communication from the owner.

    The location is excellent. Stunning view over the sea in all weathers. Great sunset views too. There a great restaurants, cafes and convenience stores within easy reach. It's a walkers paradise too. You can easily walk to the Needles and Freshwater Bay without getting in the car. The appointment is pet friendly and our house cat enjoyed it too.

    Fantastic service, staff went above and beyond to get it right. Very very friendly to dogs with added touches such as complimentary dog beer and food. Perfect location - lovely and peaceful yet on top of a fabulous beach with superb restaurants within walking distance. Great good sized room with beautiful sea view. Nice to have a well stocked honestly bar.
