This is a very private boutiqe hotel, with just around 12 rooms - about 6 were occupied while we were there. It felt really private. Breakfast is a la carte, with many options. Staff was constantly cleaning and doing small fixes around the place. It was always stunning and spotless.

We loved the way this hotel was placed it the middle of a huge garden and yet by the beach. It gave you this special tropical ‘jungle’ like feeling of being in the middle of a jungle forest and we saw Elephant Shrews, Bush Babies and monkeys roaming (they are shy and never approach you). But is was very nice in the evening to sit out on the very large terrace and watch the animals come to live as sunset and dusk approached. The hotel (the reception area) are as stunning and beautiful as the pictures and the rooms are large and very clean, the bath rooms luxurious. The beds are nice and comfy and it’s all very quiet at night so we slept very well. I was impressed by all the beautiful African art and masks all over the place. It was very tastefully decorated with a sure hand for details. Very very lovely and with a feel of exclusivity. The pool and ‘beach’ area was very nice and had an amazing view to the Indian ocean and we enjoyed the pool as well as swimming in the ocean. The food was nice, in particular the more local dishes. I would very much recommend Tikitam for a lovely and authentic stay.
