Graz is a very beautiful small city full of interesting sights, lovely restaurants (also vegan), a lot of shopping opportunities, very interesting museums and very friendly people. I can recommend the "MUWA - museum der wahrnehmungen graz" as well as the Styrian Armoury (but only with guided tour).
This is one of the best towns for summer and winter activity in the world. It is in Styria and the people are most friendly and can not do enough for you. Food quality is generally excellent
Old town small but so nice, go up to the castle tower, stroll on the river around Cook building and pedestrian street, Herz Jesu Kirche (church) is a must, and pretty much everything in the old town. if one fancies nice sitting outside on a summer day and has a car to drive then you can book a table in "Aiola im Schloss" restaurant (ask for table in the garden). alternatively in the centre can recommend Eckstein in the central or cross the river Der Steier restaurant but beware, in call cases booking a table in advance is a must as all are popular and often booked out completely even on weekdays. nearby one can drive around Graz to a village called Thal where the Terminator Arnie was born, there is a small lake with a running path around which young Arnie used for training and also a boat monument in which Arnie made a proposal to his first wife :) you can also ask hotel staff for nice one day escapes in provincial Styria which are plenty around i.e. wineries, lakes, thermal, palace road and similar.
On the summit of mountain but still in the city center. The Schlossberg hill of Graz is natural spectacle, recreation area and vantage point for enjoying the beautiful views of Graz and surroundings. Must see! The Styrian Armoury in Graz is the world's largest historic armoury and attracts visitors from all over the world. It holds approximately 32,000 pieces of weaponry, tools, suits of armour for battle and ones for parades. Who likes...
World heritage historical town centre. The Styrian capital is pritty ! Summertime is best with many opportunities to spend time outside in beautiful locations.
Graz is one of those places that gives you what you are looking for when you come to Europe, without the rush and bluster (not to mention transport logistics) of a big place like Vienna. It should really be marketed to families: The kids museum (Frida and Fred), the many good playgrounds, many small and interesting museums (Bruseum!), things to do inside and around the Schlossberg (mountain in the center), the charming old town (though sadly lacking the many charming coffeehouses it once boasted), the tree climbing garden at Hilmteich, Bouldering hall and good rock climbing nearby, many events, easy excursions to great nature places... The cultural highlights are many, from the Avantgarde music Styriarte to one of Europe's great festivals for Cirque Nouveau and Street Performance, La Strada.
Graz was a lucky stop for us. We only detoured our journey when we heard that we could go to Arnold Schwarzenegger house which is now a small museum. That was cool, but Graz has a lot of nice surprises. The lift inside the hill above town with nice restaurants then cablecar down. The Styrian armoury was awesome, The floating restaurant/ bar was also great. Trains, trams and buses all easy and modern. About over cathedrals and town halls after being in Europe for a month. So Graz was refreshing and worth going too. It does also have cathedral etc, but a lot more also.
Fantastic hidden gem for travelers who would only think of Vienna. Great Styrian food and wines at Der Steirer. Fantastic old city with mountain castle. Pretty river location close to the alps and Slovenia. Well worth a diversion. Walk almost everywhere.
Part of my stay was spent at the university for a conference, so I didn’t see as much as I’d like to. But it’s handy to other cities, and I recommend the Styrian wine region day tour - magnificent scenery.
I'm biased because I used to live there! But I always enjoy visiting. Within Graz itself, the Schlossberg and Murinsel were the highlights. The Schlossberg is essentially parkland on a hill above the city and of course the home of the iconic Uhrturm. Unfortunately due to a storm the week before the paths were closed when I was there but when they're open, I could spend hours up there. The Murinsel is essentially a floating cafe in the middle of the river with a good selection of drinks. Cheap and tasty dinner can be picked up from food trucks on Hauptplatz in the early evening. Also a good few daytrips within Styria can be taken from Graz. Excellent public transport, although for day trips planning will be required.
Bad Mitterndorf
The area was nestled in luxuriously verdant hills, forests and majestic mountains, as well as refreshing lakes surrounded by traditional old Austrian towns. Furthermore, we enjoyed the deliciously sweet treats, savoury foods, as well as the plentiful fresh succulent fruits on offer in the low key tourist area of Styrian Salzkammergut. Our hosts were friendly welcoming and communicative. On top of that our fully contained apartment was modern clean and quiet. Could not want any more and would return there anytime.
Leutschach an der Weinstraße
The location is absolutely great in the middle of South Styria's wine country. The house is right next to a forest and the vinyards. Calm and quiet. The apartment is spotless, spacious and feels like brand new. Both bedrooms are large and the beds are great. The living room and the kitchen is large and has everything you will need. Heidi who lives downstairs was very welcoming and an all over great host.
Knittelfeld
The location is interesting: an ancient Styrian villa, tastefully restored to a modern standard. Doors, windows and roofs are still original and give a nice sensation of a traditional, authentic housing. All apartments are fully restored and up to standard. The staff is very polite and helpful.
Location is perfect. Very quiet area in the Styria mountains. Delicious breakfast, lots of choices. Room size ok. Dinner served a la carte. There is a wellnes area but we did not use. Very friendly and helpful staff. Hotel focused on hungarian guests. Recommended.
Ehrenhausen
Nice retreat hotel in a pitoresque vineyard above cosy village in Southern Styria. Great for summer weekend or longer stay, with kids, dogs, winelovers or other pets. Great food and wonderful wines.
Idyllic location. Wonderful in every way! Highly recommend ❤️
Excellent dinner options, buffet. Great spa facilities even if you do not go to the nearby resort. Amazing breakfast. Large parking space. Dog friendly.
Great location. Amazing breakfast and food in general. Every single member of the staff delivers perfect service. This is challenging and a great achievement. Respect. The room was nice and most importantly quiet. The view to the Loser is wonderful. I’m not the Spa type so I didn’t use it a lot but it’s nice, it was not overcrowded and the teabar plus nuts and dry fruit is welcomed. I would have appreciated a higher water temperature in the pools but that’s minor. It was warm enough to feel good inside. The golf course is around the corner and next to the hotel. I’m not an expert but the course looked rather mediocre to me and just as much maintained as necessary. But that’s not part of the hotel and not their responsibility. I will definitely come back again.
There‘s enough entertainment for kids. We had fun at the hotel!
Everything was just fine. I had half pension and went always for lunch in Fontana and that was just great.
Awsome view!!! Impeccably clean, beautiful suite, great breakfast,...

Location, food and facilities were great, warm outside pool is the most relaxing thing you can do. The services were fantastic special thanks to Lena and Vladimir from the restaurant staff and Jonas from the front desk for the special care and helpul sujestions!
had a really nice stay in Schladming. Great and courteous staff, modern facilities (would never have believed that the hotel is almost 11 years old) and most of all our dog loved it. It's not always easy to please our Austin. Thanks to the whole team for the warm hospitality!
Stunning location, beautiful wine, excellent accommodation and delicious food
nice location; spa and wellness center very good
The location and breakfast were excellent, as were the wellness facilities included.
