This was our first trip to Hobart and we will definitely be going back again. Loved Port Arthur and Mt Wellington and the Tasmanian Devil sightseeing, the Ball and Chain restaurant was excellent and Salamanca market was brilliant. The resident wild seal in the harbour was soooo cute.
excellent value for money.hotel well fitted out for any traveller who is looking for a good clean bed and facilities...all very good with a host who knows everything about tasmania and hospitality...and service.
A very quaint and interesting city which offers lots of activities and day trips for all ages. Compared to the big cities, driving in Tasmania is very relaxing and enjoyable.
Hobart is a must for all world travellers. You are not getting a complete Australia unless you do Hobart and then go around Tasmania. One of the last wilderness areas in the world..
We visited MONA, which should be on every thinking person's bucket list, Botanic gardens, Salamanca Markets, art gallery. The Women's Factory is a testament to government sanctioned inhumanity. Hobart is a great little city, Tasmania has a horrendous history of genocide and other abuses which it doesn't try to hide. Our second visit to Tassy. If we go there again it we'll try for a warmer time of the year.
St Helen's is a great base from which to experience, and explore, the Bay of Fires region in north east Tasmania. Both Binalong Bay and areas such as The Gardens, Cosy Corner and Taylor's Beach are easily driven to. Lots of walks, particularly around Binalong, if that's your interest. Could get a bit crowded and busy in peak season, Spring/Summer, but when we were there, May/June, lots of accommodation options and less people to contend with while you are out and about exploring!
Dove lake was beautiful the Tasmanian devil compound was interesting Ate at the wilderness village expensive and not a big variety to choose from stayed there but would consider somewhere else if went again
Absolutely loved Port Arthur. This was our 2nd visit and we really wanted to spend more time there this trip and see land earn more of the history of PA. We went on the private Commandants tour and had a brilliant guide named Jenny. She was fantastic. I highly recommend you add that tour to your list when purchasing your entry ticket. The staff at the museum coffee shop were lovely and make great chai lattes. Overall this place is wonderful. The grounds are immaculate and very well looked after. The history available of what PA was like in the 1800’s makes you feel like you were a part of it. Amazing place, we truly enjoyed the 2nd trip so much more. It’s a must see place if you are heading to Tasmania.
If heat pump worked we would been fine but was to cold. Sofa bed was horrid to sleep on. Country club was excellent for food and hawthorn winning made our trip Tasmania zoo was excellent must see for family's
Hobart is amazing... mount Wellington is great view.. you feel like you were in the clouds. That's definitely a must go. Visit the museum of tasmania free entrance. The oldest bar in Australia 👌🏼 Perfect. The pearl co restaurant fresh sea food and dont forget the Mona museum in ferry... also a tip .. go to State cinema ... was the best best best highly recommended!!!
Hobart
The decor and appointments are creativley dazzling and designed with the Wow Factor in mind. Luxurious yet homely. Lots of space. Set next to a mansion with other apartments and remarkably manicured colonial-style shared gardens - yet quiet and private, Beautiful Tasmanian timber architecture preserved to a high standard. Set on a hill with views of Mount Wellington and the CBD from the street. Walking distance to the CBD (about 20 minutes). Comfortable beds and lounge for watching TV. Walking home up Scott Street was a real workout!
Low Head
fantastic historic location. cottages have been beautifully preserved and well maintained. They were sparkling clean, comfortable & warm and cozy. The museum and their fabulous staff made the history of Low Head come to life for us. absolutely amazing museum ~ it was a highlight of our visit to Tasmania. If the museum staff hadn’t been so friendly and passionate about the history of Low Head, we could have missed out on such a memorable experience. thank you sincerely Jane & Adrian Boys Western Australia
This was our favourite stay in Tasmania. The service was friendly and professional. Our first room had a beautiful view of the river. Tasty in room dining. Large room and bathroom and very clean. Great shower heads, nice and big. Hotel was close to everything but away from the hustle & bustle. Foxtel was included. We returned a few days later and our second room was just as nice, we just didn’t have the river view that time. It was a little expensive but we would stay here again if we revisit Launceston.
Staff professional, discreet yet friendly. Room generous, inviting and comfortable. Meals (breakfast) was delicious and prompt. Hotel bar is classy, reasonable and accommodating. Location is unparalleled for access to shopping and the heart of Hobart’s CBD. While here, we felt like we were one of the many famous previous residents and were treated as such. We were literally sad to leave and regret going to other parts of Tasmania to continue a pre-booked holiday.
The hotel was beyond beautiful. As a cleaner the hotel was above clean.Everything had been wiped down,Staff go above and beyond. I had to book another night. We were allowed to stay in the same room. Nothing was a problem, The front staff have been trained to go above and beyond, So very very happy to know we have a beautiful, clean, Hotel in Tasmania to put us on the map. So thank you so so very much for everything
The location was excellent as we arrived on the late Ferry and only had a five min drive. The rooms are very comfortable and clean for an old style hotel. The staff were very friendly and the food was very good. Extra bonus was the communal kitchen and sitting room. Overall a great stay. Would recommend to Tasmanian Ferry passengers. The terminal is about a 40 min walk for those without a vehicle
Penguin
Lovely outlook above one of the gems of Tasmania, Penguin. Spacious home which the host provides unexpected additions such as eggs, breads, jams and others. You’d expect such things inHigh end Hotels, but I haven’t encountered at many B&B’s. Owner is very welcoming and thought I’d enjoy my stay so I booked an additional night on arrival. Thank you, Gerald for having such an amazing property.
St Helens
Many thanks to Attila for the warm introduction. When our group arrived at the hotel, Attila gave us a detailed introduction of where the restaurants are better and where the scenery is worth seeing. Not only the local ones but also the whole of Tasmania were introduced, which gave us a clearer understanding of many things that were not available from public introductions. Zhen 28-12-2022
The location was superb. A fabulous view of the Tamar River a beautiful spot. About 20 minutes from Launceston, it was the perfect place to end our holiday. The food in the restaurant was to be recommended (booking advised) and the room was serviced every day. A small problem was dealt with promptly and fixed. I would recommend this Hotel and would stay again on our next visit to Tasmania.
Very surprised by this hotel. Unassuming facade but the interior was very modern. The artwork was carefully chosen. The beds were too comfortable I want one for ourselves. The pillows varied in density and firmness which gave us options to use. The water pressure was spot on too. The wifi speed was the best we've had in Tasmania. The staff were all polite and friendly.
Great value for the rate we paid. Really helpful friendly staff. The restaurant meals were well above your average pub standard, and were fairly priced, as were the local Tasmanian wines. Quite location (at night) however, can get very busy during the day. Great historic surroundings including the venue 1827, you must see the oldest convict-built bridge in Australia.
Hobart
Rebecca goes above and beyond to make you feel home. We have had a great surprise with the accommodation. So comfortable and cozy. Temperature of the apartment always nice and ward (in freezing Tassie!), nice warm bathroom floors, comfy beds, impeccable clean white towels and lining. I would come back to Tasmania just so we can stay again here! 10/10!!
Swansea
Everything — it is gorgeously curated and is aesthetically perfect to match the wild, rugged and quaint Tasmanian coastline. Each cottage/suite is unique, perfectly cozy and luxurious. A true 5 star gem. Homestead Restaurant is also fantastic. I’ve traveled extensively throughout Australia (and elsewhere), and this is my all-time favorite property.
Rosevears
Everything. The view of the adjacent River Tamar was especially amazing. We were content with sitting on the patio watching the day go by. Will definitely stay here again for our next trip to Tasmania. Apartment very clean, including toilet and patio. Nice odourless fridge. Comfy beds. Woolworth's about a 10min drive away.
Staff at check in, Charlie in particular, were fantastic! Very helpful and cheery. Location is magnificent. Restuarant very nice. Hotel (rooms and Bathrooms) is getting on in years but just remembering where you are and appreciating the facilities you have, right in the middle of this beautiful, remote part of Tasmania.
Cradle Mountain
the property is actually amazing. every little path u go down on the grounds has a wombat, wallaby, echidna, platypus, possum and more waiting to say hi! perfect for anyone visiting Tasmania and if you think it’s expensive you’ll be surprised how much of an Australian experience you get by staying here so pay the extra!
Stanley
The best part of this place is its incredible view of Stanley. The kids loved the play area where they can play and see some very cute goats nearby. Fast internet, which is unfortunately not too common in Tasmania, felt like a blessing. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was nice and tidy, and heating was great.
Great location in the centre of town. Hotel was clean and well laid out. Rooms were lovely and we had a nice view of the seafront to watch the world go by. Food was good in the restaurant and a good selection of breakfast items. Best beds I have slept in on this trip to Tasmania so far.
Hobart
Hands down the most beautiful place I have stayed in Tasmania. Impeccably clean, beautiful room and brand new bathroom. Really lovely breakfast in the morning. Hotel is in in a lovely location just out of town but only a few minutes drive. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
St Helens
Very clean and very well presented unit. Very comfortable sofas. Good size bathroom and all you’d need in the kitchen. Communication with the owners was very easy. If we visit the east coast of Tasmania again, we wouldn’t hesitate to stay at Georges Bay Apartments again.
