Very comfortabele house, everything you need is there. The house is exactly as in the pictures. Very close to pretty and almost deserted beach and in walking distance of the cute little village. Isolinda is a lovely host, communication went smoothly and she did all she could to make our stay carefree.

as mentioned there aren't many things to do in Maio. it's a place to relax enjoying the simple things. you do not have many restaurants, you have 2 bars in the main beach (the others arount the island do not have any facilities) you will find small grocery stores and the market (fresh vegetables only when the boat cames). you can visit the salinas, church, and rent a car to go around (about 2h to see the island). we used to eat in a small traditional place next to the church (Natalia), the food is really good cooked or in the beach bars (Tropikal is more "european" you can order a pizza and the other one more traditional with cape verdian food) you have the hotel restaurant (mainly italian food at least was what we saw when passing by) or tutti frutti (italian restaurant) for breakfast we went to jardim do maio every day.

From £21 per nightThis might be by far the coziest place you can stay at for a trip to Maio. The apartments are big and comfortable and Mona is one of the friendliest hosts I've ever experienced. Her cooking is extraordinary and the jam she makes for breakfast is delicious. The apartment is located 150m away from one of the nicest and loneliest beaches I have seen in my life. You will have the ocean for yourself... At least until others will find out about the beauty of Maio ;)

The manager of the little hotel makes everything you feel good there. As I booked very spontaneously, the room category I choosed was taken, so he offered me an upgrade. The roof top terrace is - as I could see - the highest around there and overviews whole Porto Ingles/Vila do Maio until the Salinas. Wonderful!! And you're just beside the big yellow church. Shower has hot water and veeery good pressure!!

Hotel Casa Evora - luxury and beach front

We stayed in the room Solange which is situated right next to the main « road » of Maio, and quite exposed to the street (expect noises if you stay there). The room is ok, but nothing comparable to a Boutique Hotel room. The hotel is conveniently situated, in front of the main road and next to the beach.

Near the beach and restaurants around. Very beautiful, quait, small island Maio with long beaches, nice people around. We recommend a lot.
