I have never felt more welcome at the end of a long journey than I was at this hotel. Nestled in an Altstadt on the site of Bad Arolsen, the hotel is meticulously clean & optimally comfortable. The entire staff demonstrates a hospitality that is, at the same time, consummately professional and genuinely courteous. My 5 day stay in a King suite provided me with the privacy I needed for my work. This is a place for clearing one’s mind, journaling, walking and meeting people from all parts and regions of Germany, and beyond. I give it my highest recommendation.

Frankenberg is a beautiful small town in Hessen with wonderful architecture on the market squares as well as the famous 'ten-towered town hall'. The air is good and the pace of life relaxed. There is good shopping in the pedestrian precinct in small shops and if you are there on Saturday go to the farmers' market in the town hall. In Frankenberg itself you can explore the town with it church and 'Burg' and from Frankenberg you can do short or long walks, bicycle tours on designated routes and wonderful visits by car to the Eder dam, Bad Wildungen, Winterberg and the Cistercian monastery at Haina as well as the nearby university town of Marburg.

Dillenburg seemed to me a very nice and quiet city. It's a very small one and there is only about 20k of people so to stay there for really long time would be boring. But as almost the middle of Hessen it's a very good point to travel from to other cities.

A hilly spa town near Frankfurt, on the edge of the Taunus mountains. Rain prevented us from going out walking, but all three generations of the family enjoyed visits to the restored Roman fort at Saalberg and the open-air museum (Freilichtmuseum Hessenpark) at Neu Anspach. Bad Homburg has every type of restaurant and we would recommend the Kartoffelküche in the Audenstrasse (two restaurants with the same name in town, both serving good potato-based dishes, but this one also provides a warm welcome!), Il Gargano off the Louisenstrasse for a wide selection of Italian food (lamb ravioli with artichokes), and wonderful ice cream next door at De Pellegrin. If you want brunch, try café Klatsch at the other end of the Louisenstrasse. All of these are reasonably priced and welcoming to both children and adults. If you go into Frankfurt on a Thursday, visit the farmers' market at the Konstablerwache and try potato fritters with green sauce, sausage or salad, washed down with apple juise or beer and eaten with other shoppers at long outdoor tables - an ideal place to meet friendly locals.

This is very rural.
This is very rural. If you are looking for shops and such, this is not the place. If you want to get away to a quiet, restful, VERY comfortable lodging with gracious hosts, this is perfect. Several roads were closed for construction and repairs in the last 20 kilometers before we reached Hesseneck, but our GPS found alternate routes which got us there with only a few minutes delay. We only wish our stay could have been a bit longer.

Lovely town with so much to do. I went to the Kurhessen Therme and the large park next to it with the Herkules monument. I would love to spend much longer in this town, but my time schedule did not allow for it.

We really like the room, breakfast and staff, but the location is great, being so close to the Hessen Center and the U Bahn.

I didn't expect much. But the bedroom was very cozy, with everything it needed. You don't have to bring all the supplies. Before you come, check what is ready here and reduce your heavy luggage. The facilities were clean and clean. The breakfast was very satisfying! There were a variety of salads, fruit, yogurt, bread, ham, different types of tea leaves, hot and simple dishes. The garden outside is very good for a walk. The hotel is in a good location and you can also eat at several restaurants nearby if you like. Although they were busy with so many people, the employees were calm and friendly and gave their best in everything. I'm grateful to them. It's a pity that I couldn't use the pool and sauna because I didn't know. Don't miss this opportunity. We didn't realize this is one of the Relais & Châteaux hotels before we arrive, and we're totally satisfied after arrival. Pretty nice holiday getaway hotel with good location, view, facility and friendly staff. There is a gift riesling in the room(yes of course, this is Geisenheim, riesling is the reason that brought us here), and it is a pretty tasty one. The hotel has a fine restaurant attached to it, but we didn't have a chance to try due to reservation issues.
