Best Western Hotel de Havelet 4 stars

Hotel in St Peter Port

In St Peter Port on the eastern coast of Guernsey, Hotel de Havelet enjoys sea views and has 2 restaurants, a bar, indoor pool, hot tub and sun terrace. The property was close to bus station with a nice view of Castle Cornet. It’s a bit uphill but there is a bus which will drive you to the bus terminal and close to the port should you take a boat to Sark or Herm and back. The manager was very responsive when I was trying to set-up a morning surprise for my boyfriend. They managed to arrange a cake which I picked up at 6:30 am. The receptionists Arra and Kati were very helpful and friendly. There was also a complimentary tour of the island, the tour driver was very knowledgeable and tried to fit in as much as we could in 4 hours. Luca from the Copenhagen restaurant was also very nice. The rooms were clean and there was a fresh fruit basket daily. We also made use of the pool and jacuzzi facilities. We really enjoyed our stay.

Wayside Cheer Hotel 3 stars

Hotel in Castel

Overlooking the sandy beach of Grandes Rocques Bay, the Wayside Cheer Hotel has a heated outdoor pool in the summer and a quaint garden seating area. The general atmosphere of the staff and place was cheerful and welcoming. We also got bumped up to the exec suite for logistical reasons, which helped! The room was lovely and spacious.

Duke Of Richmond Hotel 4 stars

Hotel in St Peter Port

With views over St Peter Port Marina and Cambridge Park, the Duke of Richmond is situated in Guernsey’s capital. It has spacious bedrooms, an outdoor pool and a restaurant. Bobby and the team did an amazing job, we always felt welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Every member of staff played their part and nothing was too much trouble. On my Partners birthday they put a lovely tray of cakes and well wishes in chocolate in the room. The rooms are very well apointed and food exceptional. The only critisism I have is that I dind't stay there longer!!

FAQs about hotels on Guernsey

Enchanting Island of Unspoilt Nature

The 2nd largest Channel Island, Guernsey has a rugged coastline, unspoilt countryside and secluded beaches. Although a dependency of Britain, its proximity to Normandy’s shores means that it has a distinct French feel.

Home to the greatest number of Guernsey hotels, St Peter Port – the island’s capital – is the arrival point for ferries from England, France and the other Channel Islands. Looking back at the multi-coloured buildings across the harbour is Castle Cornet, protectively guarding the town.

Just south is beautiful Fermain Bay whose sand and pebble beach is sheltered by tree-covered cliffs. Neighbouring St Martin’s parish has a couple of Guernsey hotels with swimming pools, by the coast and inland. West is St Saviour parish where Guernsey Airport is located.

In the north the coastline is flatter and the beaches longer. Once such beach is at Cobo Bay in Castel parish, where long swathes of sand are lined by a sea wall. Vale to the east has a castle perched precariously on the cliff edge.

Booking.com has an excellent selection of guest houses and hotels in Guernsey, an island small enough to be explored in one trip. Whilst you’re travelling around, look out for the brown-and-white Guernsey cows, and the bright blue post boxes and telephone boxes.
