Matlock
A clean and spacious apartment at a very good price. The host provided detailed instructions on locating the lock box and accessing the property. Given the provision of a cooker and microwave, we brought our own food and enjoyed a pleasant, relaxed evening meal at the table overlooking the lights by the river. The apartment provided a convenient base for travelling on into the Peak District the next morning after a good night's sleep. We found there was plenty of free overnight parking (after 6pm) on the road right by the apartment.
Exceptional value. The room was clean and had a kettle with tea & coffee. Clean bathroom with a powerful shower. Being in a separate building behind the pub it was very quiet. Perfect location for an overnight stay as we wanted to get to Hardwick Hall (10 miles SE) and the Peak District. Manager was friendly. We didn't eat in so can't comment on the pub or breakfast.
The location is on the edge of the Peak District and is close to Sheffield. The staff were excellent and were very friendly. The hotel is an old building with character. It had plenty of parking, good wifi, and was very dog friendly. The cooked breakfasts were very good as were the meals we had in the evenings. Tea and coffee facilities provided in the room were appreciated.
Sheffield
We have stayed here on several occasions and the standards are consistently good. Comfortable, clean en suite bedroom. Very friendly, efficient staff and first rate, quality food. The Norfolk Arms has plenty of car parking and is very close to the Peak District National Park, the hotel is around 1000ft above sea level and the views from outside are exceptional.
Buxton
The apartment and Hall is a beautiful place to stay. The apartments are spacious and are really comfortable. Ours had everything we needed and made the stay feel like we were home but with the added benefit of the Peak District being a stones throw away. The communication from Anthony was excellent, before and after our trip. Extremely accommodating.
I had a great stay in the bunk room. Really nice staying in an only a 2 person shared room compared to a larger hostel. Everything was clean and comfortable. Multiple pillows and blankets and towels provided for free. Very close to public transportation to the Peak District. I would recommend and would stay again if in Macclesfield again.
The location is great for the Monsal trail. I thought the apartment was a perfect base for an adventurous weekend in the Peak district. The kitchen is well equipped, the bathroom is great and the apartment is spacious for a couple of people. The hosts looked after our bikes when we weren't using them.
Lovely modern hotel.. our room had a great size with a fantastic bathroom incl. big bathtub and separate shower. The bed was super comfortable. We had a great dinner at the adjacent pub and staff in the entire hotel was very friendly and welcoming. Location was great being super close to the peak district.

Hartington
Beautiful comfortable apartment. Easy parking. Well equiped kitchen. Heated well. Now has WiFi (via EE mobile-to-WiFi router). Good base for walking in South-East of the Peak District either direct from house or short drive. Pub within walking distance!
Perfect location for walks in the Peak District and the building is absolutely beautiful inside. The bar and lobby area are a pleasure to be in and relax, particularly on weekdays. Not so much at weekends as it gets busy with weddings, parties, etc.
I liked everything about this hotel, the location was good for exploring the Peak District, and was easy to get to Sheffield and Chesterfield as well. The staff were very nice and helpful, excellent breakfast, and free parking and wi-fi.
A perfect Peak District overnight stay! Hotel is extremely dog friendly and the staff were excellent. The billings of Warslow is perfect for a quick stretch of the legs with your pup and the sun rise was a particular high point!
