Llanymynech
We had an excellent stay here on the way down from Conwy to Powys. Pre arrival the hosts were very helpful and booked us a table for dinner at the nearby Bradford Arms - which was excellent value . We received a warm welcome from Jamie upon our arrival at the hotel and were impressed with Sam's friendliness and enthusiasm the next morning over a delicious breakfast . We really enjoyed hearing about as well as seeing the progress they are making in restoring this gorgeous house back its former glory and we wish them every success!
The room was decorated to a high standard and very clean. The breakfast was excellent and the all round service including the bar & staff was very good. Everybody was very helpful and polite Nice place to stay and very convenient for Powys Castle.
Room - lovely size & clean - comfortable bed. Room service was offered despite arriving really late into evening. Reception staff friendly
Perfect location in town, yet a short drive to the hiking trails to Pen-y-Fen and other gorgeous locations! Love the set up of rooms and cottages- what a beautiful get a way!
classic British hotel, maybe 200 years old, right in the heart of Brecon.

Very central hotel in an old building very well maintained. Staff very courteous and helpfull. Nice rooms and no complaints.
The heart breakingly beautiful location (I'm Australian 😏) and the gorgeous grandness of it all with no hint of pompous-ness! Wonderfully friendly staff and a chef that appreciates what medium rare is! By far my most memorable overnight stay in Spain, England or Wales this trip .. will definitely be back and recommending in the meantime!
Lovely oldie world hotel with all modern conveniences. Breakfast buffet is high quality and quiet varied. Showers are some of the best I've ever used and are fantastic after a days walking or climbing.
Such an incredible stay we decided to stay again, beautiful location and house, perfect room both warm and comfortable with all you need, fast internet, cosy beds, lots of room, clean, tidy, quite. Horse riding available and a great fire warmed pub up the road. Fantastic hosts that we had a lovely chat with, couldn't do enough for us such a great family run place. Will be recommending to friends and family.
Lovely, friendly staff. We stayed in a refurbished room that was cosy, modern and very clean. Breakfast was great. Would definitely recommend and visit again.
A beautiful place, so quiet, so relaxed. It was a pleasure to stay here. Unfortunately we did not see the mountains due to the fog. But we walked in the nice garden. Very friendly staff. The room was small, but clean and nice. Will definitely recommend this place.
Beautiful location, comfortable room and shower, delicious food and very nice staff
It was such a beautiful cottage that felt more than a home than a holiday cottage. It had everything you could need plus it was set in beautiful peaceful countryside. The hosts were helpful but not intrusive and left us to enjoy the cottage and our time as a family.
Lovely, seems historic to an American!
The pool, the location, the amazings hosts, the view….everything.
If you are looking for peace and quiet then this is the place, fantastic surroundings and only a short drive to town, decent facilities and beautiful grounds including a lake, very helpful and polite receptionist on site for most of the day, shame we did not stay longer but will return. 😍😍😍😍😚😍😍😍😘😘😘😘
