Stone
The full English breakfast was excellent. I don't know how they served it up so quickly! It seemed to be on the table, perfectly cooked and hot, within two minutes of ordering it! And it was very tasty and done to my liking as requested. The location is perfect, hidden away alongside the Scotch Brook, (it is an old water mill after all), just outside the lovely little town of Stone in Central Rural Staffordshire. It is just 2 minutes' walk into the centre of town but the Mill Hotel feels very rural, being situated in a green valley.
Hamstall Ridware
This property, set in a lovely little village, all its facilities and staff deserves top marks. Nice clean comfortable rooms, great food and professional staff that actually care and know how to treat their customers which I find is a rarity these days (speaking as a person who uses hotels fairly frequently all over the world). Nothing was too much trouble. If you find yourself looking for accommodation in Staffordshire it’s worth going out of your way to stay here. You really will not be disappointed.
Stoke on Trent
Very comfortable bed and apartment. Lovely armchair but the sofa bench was very narrow. The room was spotless, spacious and the shower was great. You could control the heating, open windows and the wifi worked well. As for the location, it was perfect - had a great visit into the Spode visitors centre next door and three mins from the Hippy Cafe, London Road and ten mins from Staffordshire Uni. All questions were answered promptly and it was a relaxing - and quiet - place to stay.
We liked the breakfast times which meant was a more relaxing meal than in other hotels! Also quite different breakfast choices, including tasty Staffordshire Oatcakes with various fillings...we loved the bacon, mushrooms, cheese & onion fillings - VERY tasty indeed!! Housekeepers were very pleasant & friendly & gave us the use of iron & ironing board to iron clothes for wedding! Love the setting of the hotel, with the walk around the lake etc!
The working hotel staff gave excellent customer service and were extremely helpful during a period of staff absence. We have stayed in this hotel previously, when visiting friends and family in the Staffordshire area, the previous good customer service encouraged us to book there again. Meals taken were perfect for that current need and breakfasts were particularly enjoyable. The room suited our needs also - excellent bathroom facilities and comfortable beds
The room was clean and comfortable and despite its position next to a main road, noise was not an issue. The breakfast on Friday was excellent and freshly prepared with plenty of choice. We found all staff very helpful and pleasant. The hotel was in an ideal location for exploration of north Staffordshire and Derbyshire and was close to magnificent views of The Roaches. We had dinner on both evenings and the food and service was excellent.
We travelled with elderly relatives and children and this hotel was perfect for both. The food was lovely and the ingredients all fresh and of a high standard. The brekkie was superb and the staff very attentive. Fantastic base for the peak district, Alton towers and Staffordshire.
Very smart modern hotel with nice pool and facilities. Didn't realise it is home training ground for English football so has a strong football theme. Staffordshire were great, especially Andy on reception who helped sort out our stay.
Whenever we are in Staffordshire, this hotel is consistently our first choice. This hotel is conveniently located for easy access to various destinations, and the cleanliness and superb hospitality from the staff members are exceptional.
Location was amazing for us as we travelled up from Wales for the Staffordshire half iron man 70.3. Reception were very helpful and really lovely.
Clean and bright little apartment, with everything we needed. Just 5 minutes from Staffordshire showground.
