Directly connected to JR Yamagata Shinkansen (bullet train) Station, Hotel Metropolitan Yamagata offers comfortable guest rooms with warm colours and modern facilities. Excellent Location, the building was connected with Yamagata JR station. Once we got off the Shinkansen and walked out of the station gate, it just lead straight to the hotel entrance with 1 minute short walk. So convenient! The room we received was the South tower which was relatively new. It's very neat and tidy. Within a small stroll, you can reach many restaurants and bars around the station. Highly recommend!

The dinner was superb, with a variety of delicate Japanese dishes and grill beef. The famous beef was so tender and delicious. We were so full and the staff offered us take-away dessert that we could enjoy later in our room. Free shuttle bus service from Yamagata JR Station to the hotel could be reserved in advance. Great service!

The reception staff made exceptional assistance to send us to nearby hotel which we stay for another night in Zao onsen. Understand that the hotel normally does not provide any free transportation other than to Yamagata Station. Secondly, the pick up waited for as we were late because we waited at the wrong exit.
