We stayed in the 2-bedroom Executive apartment on the 29th floor: The apartment was new, clean, modern, fitted with a fully functioning kitchen, a washer/dryer, three TVs (2 in each room, 1 in the common-area living room), and two bathrooms. Guests have access to the rooftop pool and gym as well. Apartment comes with free breakfast every morning. Hotel is conveniently located in Bukit Mertarjam, a short drive to Penang island and other attractions. Family-friendly hotel with reasonable prices and friendly staff. Highly recommended!

We enjoyed our weekend stay at the ParkRoyal Hotel Penang. I really enjoyed the location - it’s within walking distance to the beach and other local attractions. Lots of restaurants nearby serving different types of local and international food. My favourite things about this hotel is the breakfast buffet (delicious!) and the night swim at the pool (the environment and lights has an almost magical and dreamy vibe about it). ParkRoyal also surprised me with a birthday cake in my room. What a lovely gesture!

Kek Lok Si Temple is around 5-10 min walking distance. Penang Hill is 15-20min walk. Easy to find local food around. The Ayer Itam market is just around the corner. You can find famous Sister's curry me at the market in the morning, the famous duck rice at Kedai Kopi Ju Huat for dinner. Laksa is also around the same area for lunch. Hotel serve nice char kuey teow and other breakfast too. We reach hotel early, the staff allowed us to checked in early. Room is clean and tidy.

I did not like the property. The hotel itself is old and needs updating..lifts, plumbing (brown water, yuck!) and room furniture. Hotel does not have an airport shuttle, and Grab drivers would not come to me early AM, so I missed my flight off Penang. The property is overpriced for dirty room and unhelpful staff. I’ve stayed in rooms that cost half as much in other parts of Malaysia and were twice as good! Disgraceful this is on booking.com.

The location was great, convenient to reach the main viral food in Penang. The room was excellent, meticulously decorated. The free flow of premix Penang white coffee is a good addition. The staff were very friendly. attentive and kind enough to give a vintage glass plate to my mother when she mentioned that the plates reminded her of childhood memories at our kampung. Love the privacy offered by the hotel throughout of our stays for two nights.

This hotel is amazing. I had mistakenly booked for next year. However, after finding out when I had arrived this year, the lady quickly sorted it out for me. The room was amazing, cleaned everyday to perfection. Everything you require for comfort would be no problem for the staff at the hotel. The facilities , gym, infinity pool are immaculate. I love this place. The location is ideal, perfect for walking or driving top Penangs many attractions.

I got an upgrade to a loft suite with 2 bathrooms and free breakfast for 2. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Toiletries and bedroom slippers were provided for. Breakfast spread came with wide selection of cuisines and well presented too. Hotel employees were very friendly, patient and helpful. I enjoyed my stay very much and this hotel will be my choice in Penang if I do come back for my next visit!

The hotel itself is a historical building. Its gallery details the history of the hotel from the beginning up to now with lots of photos and interesting exhibits. The location of hotel is perfect , especially if this is your first trip to Penang, because the most popular sightseeing spots and famous local food stalls are nearby. The hotel breakfast is abundant and fresh with both Malay and western food and fruit.

Breakfast is wonderful. Room is big with sofa. Separate toilet , shower and washing basin are convenient to 2 persons in the room. It is situated in CBD banking area with walking distance from the hotel. I can enjoy Penang food at the hawker stall/ food courter in front of the hotel

The counter staff who went to check the room cheated, when it was time to check out, he checked the room and changed the towels, saying he took them from the room I stayed in and said they were dirty. have to pay an additional RM31.80. have to be careful while staying at this Rate E-Red Hotel Bayu Mutiara, Bukit Mertajam, Penang. **Be careful, they are very clever and easy to deceive customers

- Very responsive and friendly hosts, they also have me a bicycle to cycle around rice fields in the morning and offered a nice breakfast with a huuuge kettle of coffee! - Opportunity to stay in a traditional Malaysian house and learn how locals live - Very safe for solo female travellers - Convenient location - relatively close to both Jerai and Penang; Grab also delivers food!

The room was spacious and lovely. Hotel is at a convenient location. There's plenty of hawker stalls around for food and very near to the Chew Jetty Tourist Spot. The balcony was spacious and had amazing sea view. Can see the Penang Bridge. The room is also soundproof. Cannot hear the sound of traffic as it is a busy road. The staffs are very kind and nice.

New apartment, easily accessible to town and bridge. Apartment is equipped with light kitchen and washing machine. Beds are clean and comfortable. Excellent sky view at Level 42. Beautiful sunrise overseeing Penang Bridge at Level 11 infinite pool & jacuzzi area. Double floor gym looks good though we have no time to use it this time.

All top rated! If you want to have a relax just go there and have a village life. Penang’s national park is very near to the house if u ride the bike Tony provided and all are nature around. It also provide rambutan and many other fruits. Tony is very warmhearted. I will back there next year if I go to Malaysia again.

Staff: Could not have been nicer! I sampai di hotel jam 1350pm.. Staff ambik details & deposit then terus bagi kunci untuk check in walaupun belum masa check in jadi xperlu tunggu lama. Facilities & food for breakfast also very good, I give 10⭐/ 10⭐. In future will come again. Tq Shangri La Hotel Penang❤

Good location near Tesco and many other shops/restaurants, yet easy to drive to key attractions such as Batu Feringghi beach, Komtar and Penang Hill Apartment block looks new, not crowded when we were there. Fully equipped with iron, washing machine, dryer, detergent, towels.

Clean, good location very near event that we were attending. Hotel has a beautiful view & ambience. Friendly staff “Khai” thank you for the smooth check in. Attending to all our queries for location for good food. Recommendation for delicious food to go for in Penang.Kudos!!

The location was chosen for 1 night as close to the airport and we had an early morning flight. Beautiful balcony, lovely and clean and an amazing pool. The best pool on our Malaysia trip. The views were amazing. Visit the Penang War museum next door. Very interesting.

Location of apartment is ideal for us. Walking distance to few of our fav eating places. 10 mins walk to KOMTAR TOP Penang too! Apartment is spacious, equipped w washing machine, refrigerator & microwave oven too. Very clean toilet w really good shower.
