Used to go to the sunday market to buy fresh fish cheaply but now they are not selling fish like they used to anymore. Anyway the glutinous rice + chicken curry sold there is still a reason i stop by whenever i am in kuala perlis.

Padi field view was spectacular. Seafood and 'ikan bakar' at kuala perlis was superb. Also not forgetting the famous asam laksa. Amazing place. Very peaceful and relaxing. Friendly people. Gua Kelam visit is recommended.

Old town with beautiful scenery of paddy field. Clean air. Many seafood restaurants at jetty Kuala Perlis. There is Melati Lakeside and floating mosque ie Masjid Al Hussin.

kangar is good.places to eat mostly clean. unfortunately we stayed at federal hotel for few hours and had horrifying experience.hotel dirty. i change to seri malaysia hotel and finally enjoy my trip to kangar.nasi ganja they called is good.. small stall in front of clinic menon.laksa kuala perlis is my favourite.anjung keli is where you must go for lunch experience traditional food.

Had taken bus from KL ( great experience) got taxi from bus station to hotel, driver stopped at shop for beer for us waited while we checked in, drove us for supper waited drove us home and collected us to go to ferry to langkawi in morning all for $10 great review for taxi trivet didn't see anything of Kuala Perlis but have been to langkawi many times.

Just a small town for transit to Langkawi. Very easy to get around if you have your own transport. From there can go to Kangar & Padang Besar (boder town to Thailand). I would recommend Ngopi cafe in Kangar for marvelous sandwiches.....and don't forget to try laksa sold around Kuala Perlis & the fresh seafood near Kuala Perlis Jetty....

Short distance to attractive places such as Kuala Perlis, Gua Kelam and Padang Besar. Good for transit / short stay because not many interesting places in town.

Kangar, centre of many interesting places. Near to Kuala Perlis, about 10 minutes from Seri Malaysia Hotel. The famous seafood centre, just to recommend the best, WANIS AROMA IKAN BAKAR NO.2. Very friendly staff and the cuisine, so superb. Mentarang, lala, ikan jenahak, ikan pari, big prawns are so fresh and so delicious!!! The price? So reasonable and affordable. Another place is Padang Besar. Shopping heaven for shopping lovers. So many things there, special food especially siamese style and flavour are ready for food lovers. Not to forget, Kangar is also the shopping centre for traditional cookies, food and hand crafts. We really enjoyed our short but meaningful vacation here.

Kangar is a small states in Malaysia.However, Kangar is "rare" state for family love a nature environment & food porn lover can stay here for fulfilment self satisfaction experience in perlis.

It's a pretty sleepy town... with an old world charm. Did not explore much of the state as i was there for only a day. The biggest 'draw' of Perlis is the Harumanis mangoes which grow indegenously there and can be quite expensive (RM30-RM60 per kg depending on the grade) but many say are worth a try. Just beware that you get the real stuff cos there are alot of other mango varieties that come from Thailand which is just a short drive away.
