The staff was really amazing and they helped me and my wife with our bags upon arrival

Location 10 minutes to Hoedspruit town. Unless giraffes are standing in the road, which could mean a short delay. Gated “soft game” wildlife estate. Soft game means that there are no lions, elephant or other dangerous animals. However giraffes, warthogs, porcupine, sable and other antelope, etc. roam the reserve. We had duiker and porcupine out our sliding door, warthog and sable at breakfast. Great place to relax a few days getting over jet-lag before going into Kruger (like we have done many times) or before visiting a posh big five reserve - because why spend a fortune when you are too jet lagged to appreciate it.

We chose The Outpost Lodge for an impromptu 30th anniversary getaway. We have always wanted to visit the northernmost part of the Kruger to see how it compares to the rest of the park. The Outpost is situated on a hill overlooking the Luvuvhu River and the view from our room was breath-taking. The contemporary open plan rooms have retractable remote-controlled blinds, that offer uninterrupted views of the river when open. It was indeed a once-in-a-lifetime experience to sleep with no walls between you and the wilderness. On the second night, we were treated to elephants trumpeting just outside our room! The lodge is situated in a private concession. The staff mainly consists of members of the Makuleke tribe. We were treated like royalty and no effort was spared to make our stay a memorable one. It is evident that the staff are extremely well trained, but also that they love what they do. Our room was immaculately clean, the food was 5-star and wherever we went, we were greeted with friendly smiles. The fauna, flora and vistas in this part of the Kruger is by far the most impressive of the whole park. We were fortunate enough to visit both the Lanner Gorge and the Fever Forest on game drives. This is not the area of the Kruger you should go to if you want to see the big five, as you probably won’t, but that said, there is still a decent amount of wildlife to see. We saw elephant, zebra, nyala, impala, baboons, kudu and hippo.

From the very beginning when i was still making a booking, Aletta was very patient and helpful. Our room was worth every cent 😊. Bed is so comfortable we found it hard to get up 😂. The food 😋 10/10, we enjoyed everything about our stay.

The scenic beauty of the mountainous Haenertsburg region can't be over emphasized. We enjoy it for cycling, fishing, hiking, quad biking, horse riding, canopy tours - as well as the beautiful photographic opportunities it presents. Close by is the 20th steepest mountain pass in South Africa, which is awesome to drive as you leave the edge of the Limpopo escarpment and head into the low-veld about 500m lower down. The weather is moderate with frequent fog and refreshing rainfall. Its well worth a visit.

We did not spend lot of time in Phalaborwa our self we really tried to stay out of the shops, although it is small it just have the necessary shops to do quick shopping for the stuff you forget at home. Very friendly people and helpful, yes it was very nice and I really think if you have't been that side of Africa do yourself the favor and go Limpopo is beautiful specially the mountains

Hoedspruit is still a place where you feel like you are in the bushveld but everything you need is within close proximity. There are plenty shops and restaurants and it is so conveniently located to travel to most tourist attractions in Mpumalanga and Limpopo.

It was the second time we stayed at the Outpost. For us it is one of the best Lodges in South Africa. We like the open concept of the rooms and the landscape surrounding the lodge. It is just so relaxing being in Kruger without the traffic jams of the south. Maybe there are places to see more big 5 animals but going to the fever tree forest is just unique as have the sundowner on the banks of Limpopo River with the Hippos. If you are looking for a special experience, go there.

Everything. The staff were amazing. Housekeeping came twice daily. Game reserve drives (our guide Ephraim was wonderful). The hotel pampers the customer in every way possible. The views are stunning. The location is serene. The facilities well maintained. We hired a massage which was excellent. (Thank you Witness and the other lady whom I forgot her name). The chef and their staff worked with us to cater to our specific dietary needs. It really was worth splurging to come here and we'd highly recommend. It was the highlight of our memorable trip to South Africa.

I had no idea how amazing the safari rides would be- Justice and Elvis did such an amazing job at making us feel safe and finding/getting up close to the big 5. The service is impeccable- Tinyiko our server was so kind and we felt so cared for.
