The David Livingstone Museum was very well presented. Not fancy and modern but suited the area very well. It was very interesting and informative. Worth a visit. Curio Market was good. Lots of craft at good prices. The stall holders were friendly and chatty and enjoyed a haggle. We loved it! We just wandered around the town and got a good coffee at a local cafe.
Good weather, wildlife, especially the game drive and Victoria falls. Time proved too short for the other outdoor activity I would have liked to do - l especially missed the cheetah/lion walk, visit to the Livingstone Museum, skylighting, and boat cruise on the Zambezi.
The Victoria Falls are wonderful and it is worth the trip over the border to go to the Zimbabwe side to see the views from both sides. The border crossing can be frustrating and time demanding. Be prepared to be hassled to buy tourist items at extortionate rates from the locals. My party was followed for quite a distance and simply saying no or not interested was not accepted! If you do decide to purchase anything it’s worth a barter as the same items can be purchased in Livingstone town significantly cheaper.
If you haven't seen the Falls from the Zambian side and the Zimbabwean side, you need to. It is beautiful and well worth it, both sides are very different. January was a fantastic time to see the Falls, as there was not too much mist and we could view the whole Falls especially from the Zambian side. Ocean Basket is a must in Livingstone, also the hotels offer wonderful lunch and dinner options. In Livingstone everything is pretty close together, so even if you get a taxi, it is for short distances. Awesome experience, never mind all the fun activities offered on the bridge, an experience of a lifetime.
Very touristy but all the same charming. Good starting point for a trip through Botsuana or towards Namibia (or any other direction). Sights and things to do are rather expensive. Don't miss to see the waterfall from both sides - the trip over to Zimbabwe is well worth the way and money. Amazing!! Evening boat safari is nice but don't expect to see much wildlife - simply enjoy feeling like Mr. Livingstone cruising along Sambesi river with a gin tonic in your hand..
The falls dominate.....but visit royal Livingstone hotel for sunset drinks over the falls.....beautiful. If you have time go to Zimbabwe side. Quite an experience ...falls are as good but spray can sometimes spoil the view but still fun . Visit the Victoria falls hotel on Zimbabwe side... for a drink or two.a piece of history. I think Zimbabwe side is interesting and helicopter ride cheaper and better. No middle seat with shearwater/zimbazi helicopters. The people are nice despite some bad publicity in the past. A place that hopefully rejoins the tourist trail.
The atmosphere is unique through out the entire town. Yes given Livingstone is a tourist town nonetheless, Livingstone is magnificent. The wild life is beautiful. The vegetation is truly beyond words. The falls are breathtaking, the sunset bring you right down to earth. A strong spiritual energy is presence Here. Such wonders.
People very friendly and easy place to get around. If self catering then plenty good supermarkets. Many roads in need of repair so beware of potholes If you need a reliable taxi I can highly recommend Simon. He took us everywhere and has a good local knowledge and does not rip you off like many. His contact number is +260 97 9545184. He took us from Livingstone airport to the Kasungula ferry at Kasane for 500 kwatcha. Shuttles charge up to R860 p.p. The vehicle ferry at Kasungula is free for pedestrians but can be unreliable. Small speed boat will take you over. Negotiate the price first. Best experience in Livingstone is a sunset drink on the waterside deck at the Royal Livingstone. Expensive but totally worth a visit.
The hotel staff from bus driver to room service are kind thoughful, friendly and very helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. Even the locals at the falls were lovely. I will promote Livingstone and Zambia as a whole, to my friends in France - especially how safe it is. I have loved being here.
Amazing country, safe, with lovely people and a treasure between their hands. South Luangwa best place for safari so many animals and beatifulll landscapes, sky at night is something I will never forget . Best safari in Africa . Livingstone nice for a couple of days only.
Livingstone
An ideally located property in the centre of Livingstone, offering a surprisingly quiet oasis behind the busy Main Street. Excellent value for money, with incredibly helpful staff and an on-site activity centre which offered access to everything you could possibly do from a Livingstone base. We stayed in a deluxe room, which was clean and comfortable, with a strong shower. It was too cold to use the pool, but the setting around it was lovely and it was kept clean regardless. Free pancakes at 3pm were also a hit!
Livingstone
Fantastic 4 night stay at the Aha David Livingstone safari lodge & spa, we were upgraded to a suite from a standard room. The Staff are all amazing, they went above beyond expectations, “Jacqueline”was super throughout our stay, all staff tended to our every need, always friendly and smiling, would recommend small tips as they are much appreciated, after covid losses. we also booked a sunset cruise which was fabulous, we saw hippos and lots of other wildlife! breakfast and evening food was as delicious.
The location cannot be beat! We didn't even realize that the falls are essentially in the back yard of the property and that the hotel cost includes unlimited access in/out of the park. There were animals roaming around - monkeys, zebra, giraffe (!) - and we could just walk among them. With this hotel there is also access to the restaurants and amenities at the Royal Livingstone just next door. Honestly I wish we could have stayed for a week.
Livingstone
The hotel was decorated well and was fun. The room was comfortable. Loved the “elephant” towels on our bed. The staff, particularly Ken, were responsive and warm. We felt welcomed and at home during our stay. We enjoyed walking around the corner and up the main street to the Livingstone Museum and to the ice cream shop. They arranged a game drive for us at the last minute.
Livingstone
Great place to stay in Livingstone. It may not be a 5 star hotel but sure feels like it. Great staff, clean, air conditioning, swimming pool, free breakfast, quiet, comfortable bed with mosquito netting, close to town surrounded by fruit trees and garden at a very affordable price.
The location just on the banks River Zambezi makes the hotel Radisson Blu Mosi-oa-Tunya Livingstone Resort breathtaking and exceptionally beautiful anytime of the day! It is a location to behold and we definitely shall be back many time!
Second stay in this hotel, everything was excellent like the first time. During power shortages in Livingstone hotel was producing its own electicity so we did not feel any discomfort.
Livingstone
Nice apartment in quiet neighborhood. Small pool to cool off. Better than camping in Livingstone area.
Livingstone
Well located at the beginning of Livingstone town. Very good apartments.
Ester was incredibly friendly and helpful.
Fantastic place. We stayed in the luxury tents and were wowed. The facilities were equally to what you would get in the appointments. Tea, coffee facilities, fridge, air-conditioning. Mosquito netts. The surroundings are beautiful and staff were friendly. Very affordable. Would recommend gladly
The Victoria Falls Waterfront is a place where us as middle Class tourist can stay it is affordable, the facilities are very clean and well looked after. There is also activities available for tourists.
Very clean and excellent service
