This was, hands down, one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at, and we have done lots of traveling. James, his sister and his wife are very kind, welcoming, caring and try very hard to make every guest's stay a pleasure. On the first morning, James greeted us so warmly during breakfast, we immediately felt at home. The whole resort is just amazing. The location is great: right by the ocean, with a fantastic view (the best one we have ever had from a hotel!!) to the sea, in a residential and therefore very authentic (and safe!!) neighborhood, perfectly in the middle to explore the rough east and the smooth west coast. Oistins is just a short drive away. You do not need a car to stay here, even though it is certainly more comfortable to have one. The restaurant and bar staff are equally amazing. Thank you Von and Ronnie for making every evening /night a fun time. During night several security men take care of the guests' safety, which is very good. Guests, who forgot their sunscreen, can borrow one from the hotel, which is very generous. The rooms overlooking the ocean are especially great. We loved how beautifully decorated with various works of art the whole resort and the rooms are. And it is great that the rooms do not have a TV. The food in the restaurant is very good and the cocktails are delicious. Every Saturday there is live music. It is a very calm place, also suitable for single travelers, and since it is a rather small hotel, you easily find yourself talking to other guests and - best case - making new friendships. The pool is great, we could stay by the pool and watch the ocean all day long. This is a very fatanstic and happy place and we would like to thank all the hotel staff there, which really made our Barbedos vacation just perfect.!

Friendly staff, all the restaurants we reserved and ate at was delicious (oriental cuisine experience was great & Butch’s Seafood & Steakhouse). We enjoyed the night events, swim up bars, beach, the bowling alley, pool table, roof top bar. Its so much to list but we will be back next year.

Everything was amazing! There is such a sense of community, of a village atmosphere, that I would love to see more activities, mini golf, badminton or volleyball.

Met a bunch of people from all over the world. Got a feeling of what it’s like to be a local vs staying on a resort which I like a lot.

The resort was beautiful and clean. It is a peaceful and serene place that allows you to really disconnect if that is what's needed. I am not a drinker, but my friends loved the drinks. The staff was friendly and engaging. I liked that I had time alone in the pool and I didn't ever have to fight for a lounger. The views were breathtaking.

If you're looking for a posh seaside stay at a luxury resort, don't come here. If you're looking to really see the culture of Barbados and live with the people, you couldn't find a more authentic place. It's a nice little studio in a residential neighborhood with absolutely charming owners and all the things you'd expect in a genuine local experience, completely with roosters, dogs and tree frogs. Plus, you're only a 6-minute drive to the famous Friday Oistin's Fish Fry party. We had a great time!

OceanBlue is clean and well maintained. The views over the ocean are beautiful and the sound of the ocean relaxing. The staff were friendly, the size of the resort meant that they knew their guests and were always quick with a smile and hello. The resort is reasonably isolated, which adds to its charm. It’s easily walkable to the 11 bus which takes you along the West coast: there is a local bar and mini Mary’s which are easily walkable.

This is not an all inclusive resort. We had a small kitchen in the room and purchased food at a local market for breakfast and lunch. We did have several suppers at the restaurant. Food and service was great on a covered patio setting beside the ocean. There was entertainment several days to provide a taste of local music. The public transit system is very affordable, not to mention very interesting.
