Location was excellent in terms of being close to shops, however it was up a steep set of stairs as the apartment was located above the shops. Nice touches like free biscuits, and very clean kitchen / bathroom

Listing for accommodation is misleading stating "parking available" which suggests there is free parking. However, after booking, we got an email detailing the parking charges - which were not cheap! We thought the cost of accommodation included free parking. This apartment is expensive when having to add parking fees on top. There were no light bulbs in the lamps in the lounge and bedroom, and no light bulbs in the ceiling on the landing, bath was very slippery, and needed a rubber non slip mat

The location suited us and was good for transportation links. The positive aspects were, however, outweighed by the negative aspects (please see below).

We’d told the host that we’d arrive between 9-10pm. When we arrived at the property we realised we’d not been provided with the information necessary to identify and access the flat (there are a number of flats in the property). We made several calls to the number provided for the host but none were answered. We were forced to source alternative accommodation for the night (now after 10pm). The host did contact us at 10:45pm to acknowledge the messages and inform us (very apologetically) that the property had unfortunately been double booked. We contacted the host the next morning for an update. He said that he’d been able to secure the property for us for our 2nd night but we’d only be able to access after 3pm. We went, by arrangement, to drop our bags at the property, at 12.30pm assured it would be vacant and being cleaned, but found the prior ‘guest’ still in occupation. When we gained access to the property after check in time it had been cleaned and did closely resemble the photos on the booking site. However, the kitchen surfaces and appliances were not very clean, the previous guest’s crockery and cutlery were still on the drainer and there were a few discarded tissues which had not been clean away. While the property seems to be newly decorated and furnished, the handle is already missing from the bathroom door (and from one of the drawers on the chest) and the mirror is cracked. We’d been told that there was WiFi via a dongle but could not make it work. While the host’s assistant was responsive to queries, and we did have a comfortable 2nd night, we felt that the host’s team have been focussed on damage limitation and hiding behind excuses rather than actively seeking to ensure that we had a good experience. They have not been at all proactive in keeping us updated. At the time of writing (a week after the end of our stay) the promised refund has still not been received.

Breakfast was good and the service was friendly. The location was fantastic and the option of off street parking was great .

When we arrived I found my name on an envelope at the check in desk. The key was there along with the wifi info and two forms for ordering breakfast the next day. We found the room with no problem. We enjoyed our stay in the hotel and being downtown was fantastic. We had lunch across the street at " The Pier Cafe" and enjoyed it very much.

Downstairs shower thermostat broken and therefore unusable! Just noticed this was mentioned in a previous review on air BnB so a bit disappointing as we picked the property due to the fact it had more than 1 bathroom!
