The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

Location of the property was excellent; a short walk from Liverpool FC & a short cab ride into town. Property itself had numerous tv channel’s available, Wi-Fi, tea/coffee, etc all provided.

The only thing that ‘could’ be seen as a negative, is that the bathroom can only be accessed through the second bedroom, but as a family group, this didn’t really bother us.

Breakfast was fabulous- good location for sight seeing - tour bus stop right outside - would definitely recommend this hotel - loads shops & restaurants close by

The bed and pillows were comfortable. The room was spacious. The location is ideal for frequenting Ambleside. The breakfast was ok. Some of the staff were friendly.

Lack of communication - The upgrade meant we weren't part of the main hotel, this was unexpected, and we were not prepared, nor packed for it, so it made breakfast times and sorting the dog out every morning awkward. While we appreciate an upgrade It would have been good to know this before our 6 hour journey as the hotel had our details and could have messaged or called us with the notice in change in venue. Maintenence & Cleanliness - The building and our room stank of damp and sewage for our whole stay. The hotel, the room and ensuite had an array of DIY bodge jobs, giving the hotel an overall unprofessional look and feel. The ensuite extraction fan did the opposite of what it's supposed to do, so the ensuite was never dry, and bedroom air always damp despite keeping the door closed. The shower head and grouting were mouldy. 2/3 windows didn't open, and 1 didn't close properly, which is worrying when you consider your belongings. The windows were also mouldy. The cleanliness is not up to scratch and certainly not of a 4-star hotel. The business clearly has a damp problem, which is a health risk. There were also ants in our bathroom. Please train evening staff to be competent behind a bar and know how to serve alcoholic beverages. How the Fisherbeck is advertised is nothing resembling reality. I wouldn't stay here again, unfortunately.
