It is my 2nd time at the hotel, and my first stay. What can I say - I believe it may be Oxford's best hotel for a short stay alone or as a couple. The location is nice, about 10 min drive from the city centre, and at the same time - very quiet, which was good for us. The lobby is fantastic, spacious, of character, and allowed us to sit by the fire place enjoying our drinks. The room is exquisitely decorated, very fashionable too. The old style phone, the chair. Liked the mirror most, and the bed was very comfy too. Very pleased with the overall experience, and will definitely come again should we need a good night stay in Oxford!

Cathie made me very welcome and the property is really beautiful and full of history. An early start meant I had to miss out on breakfast but she made me a fabulous take-away lunch which was very welcome for the busy day ahead and a really kind gesture. Also loved that the tea making provisions included fruit infusions AND a tea pot!

Reception normally closes at 8pm, which is a bit early for me generally and I completely missed at the time of booking, but Cathie very kindly agreed to my late arrival. Top tip: check roadworks details before travel!

Michaelangelos is our home from home. We’ve stayed many times and we are always super excited. It’s clean, comfortable and such a lovely atmosphere. The food is amazing and the staff are just brilliant.
