  Lady on reception was very cheerful & friendly The room incl bathroom was very clean. Was also very quiet despite being next to the A1 . We ate in the restaurant in the evening and there was a good choice - it was excellent & good value. So not surprisingly the breakfast was also very good

  The location is excellent, and the bed was very comfortable. The room was quiet and we had a nice view from the window. Liked the coffee / tea in the foyer area, very generous. I would stay here again and highly recommend it for location, comfort & value for money.

  Location. Close to the station was ideal - arriving late at night and our keys not working to the front door (along with other guests) then being questioned to get in was NOT something I enjoyed. As it were the guests fault for the doors not recognising our keys!

  Aircon either non existent or not on (the room as absolutely ROASTING without it) Tv wasn’t working I paid extra for an upgraded room King>Queen - no mention of it at check in - and the room appeared smaller than a room we were in last year (didn’t seem like any level of upgrade). The room actually felt like one that had been belatedly included to make availability. No iron in the room & having to travel 11 floors to pick one up at reception - only to be asked if I wanted an ironing board with it is a nonsense. Shower pipe wasn’t correctly connected causing water everywhere in the bathroom & reduced pressure

  I had a good stay at 1869 - the room was really nice and the location excellent. My room was cleaned daily to a very high standard. I didn't see staff on site but when I had a query I got a response via text.

  If you're a light sleeper you may want to use earplugs if there is a gig on downstairs or there are pigeons on the window sills in the morning! It was a little chilly in the room (in February) - i think the radiator just needed bleeding.
