The house is so tastefully decorated. The beds were very comfortable. Roula and Nick were very friendly and looked after us like family. They also arranged a taxi service for us. We met Poppi who was just delightful and helpful us to explore bit more of the island. I can’t recommend this place enough for anyone looking to escape to a place that is far from the maddening crowd.”

We arrived late and were tired but the guy on staff told us that we should go out and explore Hadrians Gate and Old town at night and we are so glad that we did! Was a really cool vibe - would recommend exploring at night - this was at 11pm! Bed was comfy and the space was perfect to spent a night or two in as a stopover. Location and value for money are hard to beat. We were able to park our hire car directly outside the front of the hotel which was awesome. Staff were great and very helpful. We would stay here again.”

  Michele, was a kind a caring host. I enjoyed the hostel style which matched the village area I chose to stay in of Betwse-y-coed. Plus the bus and train were an easy walk and allowed me to tour all over Snowdonia using public transport. Great base and lots of lovely cafes and restaurants a short stroll away. As I’m a chef the S/S kitchen was a big plus for me. Really well equipped. And, Plenty of bedding and lovely and warm. Good WiFi

  Hard mattress in the dorm. Two nights in the single room was a little cramped but I slept really well. I decided to stay on and transferred to a female dorm but didn’t sleep. Just a personal preference for a softer mattress.

  Where do I start. Rotting bathroom window that handyman had to shut. Still gap at bottom so towel placed there to stop the draught. Shower handle fell off another job for handyman. Mold on Bedroom window. Booked Hotel to have a food experience, only to be told evening dinner will be served in the bar not the dining room therefore rendering the bar unusable for pre dinner drinks. A reduced menu also. Extra tables placed in bar to meet demand 20 covers plus. Salmon over cooked and dry and partners Chicken Supreme was infact a quater roast chicken with gravy and veg. That's not a supreme. No coffee in room only Tea. Breakfast the next day actually served in dining room poached eggs under cooked and raw. On mentioning only got a sorry and nothing else. 2 staff rushed off their feet no sign of the manager stepping in to help but appeared when the rush was over. Not the standard I would expect from an AA 5 star venue at their prices. It does not come close to the standards of their other Hotels or a Crear Johanssen group Hotel. Clearly needs better management..
