Location to gig at Hare And Hounds was literally the other side of the road. Self catering with everything required to make that happen easily. Loved the cakes left for us and felt that was a very nice gesture. Bathroom the right size and shower was easy to use. Much better quality toilet paper here than any other place including those more expensive and more than enough to cater for a family with children. Internet easy to use and more than adequate. Plenty of quality clean towels, extra throws. Heater in lounge easy to use and even on a particularly cold night will make the room cosy within the hour. Good lighting throughout property and leading to property. Very comfortable double bed of superior build quality. Accessible to many shops and supermarkets which sold well priced quality products. Cheap and easy to get there and back from New Street Railway Station by frequent buses.

Could have done with a couple of much larger baking trays. Pretty cold in the evening and night throughout property which could easily be remedied with a couple of oil filled portable radiators. Quite noisy late night and early morning through outside activity as it's situated on a main road opposite a busy pub venue. Metal stairs for access to the property could be a challenge for some, especially with heavy baggage. There was a slightly loose twin electrical socket in the master bedroom that I wasn't keen on using which I feel as an ex electrician needs addressing, however, another double socket was situated next to the double bed that was secure so I just avoided the slightly loose socket. It would be a five minute fix so nothing much to worry about there. I wasn't too keen on the adapter setup feeding the television and felt that the cabling for that should be hard wired, but again, that would be a five minute fix. Television reception wasn't great and experienced a few dropouts but we didn't come to watch the television so, gain, no big deal.

Convenient location to explore the town, nice neighbourhood with cafes and little local shops. Nice pizza shop just across the street few steps away. Comfy bed, hot shower. Breakfast included, plus self-served unlimited coffee and tea, jam & croissants which is more than enough, food tastes good but a little bit random on the portion on different days. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Free parking. Instructions are clearly provided. Bonus point is free to visit the castle and early access to the green house.

Location was near Isle of Skye so a good alternative to staying at Isle of Skye where accom were expensive. Was glad that I did a £3.90 upgrade to a room with sea view. It’s a basic room with basic amenities provided. Room was quite spacious, TV with Netflix was a bonus. Breakfast was not bad, but you’ll need to get the attention of the server to take your order. Convenience store is just next door. Free parking on premise as well.

It’s not too brightly lit so room was a bit dim but just a personal preference. Toilet was not clean, there were already clumps of hair on the floor when we checked into the room. Something to take note of.

To be frank, I loved the way my room was cleaned and set and it was a very good impression. Clean towels, heated rooms, hallways, hot shower all were top notch. The area was silent so i fell asleep even after a long day. The owner of the place is so sweet that she guided me through every process from check in to check out. A budgeted place for solo or couple travelers.

Quiet at night. Fantastic evening food, enjoyable bar drinks and great cooked to order breakfast. Lots to like!

Can’t think of anything worth noting.

The downstairs bakery was a gorgeous place to have breakfast! It seemed to be the local hub to get good food and tasty baked goods. The room itself was very big and so was the bathroom.
Negative section of review
The place itself is a very bed and breakfast feel but for the price it lacked the luxurious feel. The room felt very dated and needed a bit of love decorating wise. I feel the space of the room isn’t being used well, somewhere more practical to put your belongings and clothes would be good. There’s cracked tiles in the bathroom with chunks missing, and for the spacing it would be great to put a shower in the corner. A wet room vibe tucked away.
