  Room 107 was a good size comfortable and quiet. When we had to move rooms to 306 for a separate booking for Friday night the music was bad until 3am. So ask when booking. The reception staff were really good and friendly they answered questions and gave suggestions and a map. Pub attached was good very studenty with food, pizza really good.

  Breakfast was offered from 7am to 11am, when we arrived at 10am pastries, some bread and items of crockery were unavailable because they had run out. They know how many people are staying what is the problem. Topping up the breakfast seemed to be a problem I had to ask multiple times over our stay. Monday to Wednesday we were able to choose our hot breakfast and it would be delivered but Thursday onwards it was on the side to help yourself.

  Were working at the Excel and the location was great for this. Lovely area with plenty of local amenities.

  We were not given information on where to collect the keys prior to arrival and we unable to reach the host for approx 2 hours to find out how to gain access. However, the host was apologetic and collecting the keys was an easy process.

  Noise during the night on the alleyway next to the rooms. Bins and delivery from around 2pm onwards. Investment in triple glazed windows would be good.

  The staff are lovely. The stairs are manageable by my wife (88).

  Cooked breakfast is after 10:00, so we had a continental at 08:30. We knew about this as we have stayed there before, usually 3 times per year.
