The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.
2
When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.
3
After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

The bed was so comfy, and more importantly the shower had been fixed from when I was staying in the same room only last week. The staff here are so helpful and friendly. Also, it's a delight to see classy biscuits on the tea tray which also allows for more than one cup of tea/coffee, instead of the usual cheap and easy style of other hotels I've visited so far in Inverness.

Lovely old building, large room, great location. Extremely friendly lady who served us breakfast….tastiest omelette/frittata I have ever had.

Room could have done with a freshen up…paintwork tired and grubby. Bathroom dark and dingy and not pleasant…taps rusty and need replacing, grouting and silicone dirty. Dirty cups in room. It seemed like the stuffing from an old chair in the room had fallen on to carpet (see pic)….we went and spoke with a staff member and asked if it was a sign of a mouse but they said it was always there?….could have hoovered it up maybe!? Not a huge choice at breakfast…just the cooked choice then an offering of 2 cereals and a juice…some toast or pastries would have been nice too.

What a great place. Lovely location (1 hour from Edinburgh), great breakfast and comfortable bedroom and guest lounge.

Breakfast staff friendly, not a massive choice apart from typical full English type breakfast, but adequate.

I seemed to have caught a member of staff on check-in having a bad day- 1) "did I know my 'cozy double no window room' was in the basement?"-No! Nowhere does it mention that on booking.com. Answer: " well it was the cheapest room (so I should have guessed?!!). 2) As someone else mentioned- they told me that I would be charged a GBP50 deposit for security for the room (for 1 night)-that I'd already paid in full over 3 months before-I protested...3) Room was still not ready at 4.30pm so they upgraded me to another room, telling me it would've been more expensive-made sure I knew I was being given a favour... Said person was friendlier next morning, but their attitude first day means I won't return to this hotel in the future..

We were told at reception that the bar would be open until 11pm. When we returned after our concert at just after 10pm for a drink the doors were all locked and, although the manager was in the bar with the lights all still on, he would not open up. If we'd known, we would have gone to another pub or bar on our way back – but it was too late.

No biscuits in room, I’ve stayed in a lot cheaper hotels and even they’ve had welcome biscuits, the toilet didn’t flush properly, and the pillows were too hard
