The house is so tastefully decorated. The beds were very comfortable. Roula and Nick were very friendly and looked after us like family. They also arranged a taxi service for us. We met Poppi who was just delightful and helpful us to explore bit more of the island. I can’t recommend this place enough for anyone looking to escape to a place that is far from the maddening crowd.”

Was a really cool vibe - would recommend exploring at night - this was at 11pm! Bed was comfy and the space was perfect to spent a night or two in as a stopover. Location and value for money are hard to beat. We were able to park our hire car directly outside the front of the hotel which was awesome. Staff were great and very helpful. We would stay here again.”

  We liked everything in The Nook. Morebattle is a charming peaceful idyllic location to unwind and just relax. Stayed here over Easter 2023, for 9 days, and every word of the review we posted for that visit still stands.. Stayed a little longer this Easter, and could quite happily have stayed even longer... A real home from home, with lots of space throughout the cottage, and whilst there were only 2 of us, The Nook could quite easily sleep 4 people. Superb traditional and modern touches throughout.. Welcome bottle of wine upon arrival, as well as milk in the fridge for a nice cup of tea, and heating switched on in advance (by the wonderful Cath)... The Sun was way past 'the yardarm' when we arrived, so naturally, we opted for the wine.. 😊 As usual, host Lawrence is always available to answer any queries which may crop up, and responds very promptly.. So.., overall, our 2nd stay here was every bit as enjoyable as our 1st.. Without doubt...., there will be a 3rd...!!

  The staff were friendly. The facilities are good if I had been able to use them. If you have not been to Canterbury, I would recommend doing a detour to visit it. I saw the Cathedral and had a nice evening meal ( Côte Canterbury) which was good value.

  I assume it is hotel to stay if you play golf. The location means you have to drive to go anywhere. My balcony overlooked the car park. A nice touch but not the best of views 🤣 The decor in the corridors reminded me of hotels from say 20 years ago. The food was good honest grub and the service was fine but you would be disappointed if you were looking for haute cuisine. For the single traveller, I might suggest eating in the bar area. There was nothing wrong with my stay apart from a billing issue which was rectified upon my return home. I think I had just been spoilt elsewhere, in the preceding months, by staying in some independent hotels with either excellent food and/or a little more atmosphere. I imagine the place is buzzing in the warmer months.

  A very big room with a huge bed and a sofa too - a nice surprise! Loved the roll top bath too. The breakfast exceeded expectations - it was promoted as a continental breakfast but had loads of choice, including eggs and other cooked food
