Glad we decided to choose this property to stay at! The place was clean and smelt really nice when first entered. My kids loved the Harry Potter themed cinema room so much. The attention to detail in the accommodation was remarkable, from the stylish decor to the well-equipped kitchenette, everything was thoughtfully designed to ensure a comfortable stay. The bed was incredibly cozy, guaranteeing a restful night's sleep after a long day of exploring the city. The location of the accommodation was also perfect, situated in a close proximity to Watford town with easy access to transportation and various amenities. Overall, my experience at Harry’s Retreat was nothing short of fantastic. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a convenient, comfortable, and memorable stay in Watford. I’ll definitely be returning on my next visit!

I absolutely love staying at The Borough. The rooms are so much better than the characterless boxes of chain hotels or the cramped accommodation often found in converted properties. So comfortable, spacious, and equipped with everything I may have needed. The room I stayed in on this occasion was above the bar and function suite, and it was totally quiet and relaxing despite a wedding reception immediately below me. The staff were, as usual, extremely welcoming, professional, interested in my individual (medical needs) and helpful. Especially on my arrival and departure. Housekeeping were very friendly, communicative, polite, and accommodating, making sure I felt unpressured during my check out.

There is actually nothing to dislike about a stay at The Borough. Everything you need is provided. Perhaps the only negative is that there are no hotel specific parking arrangements, so you have to use public car parks which are pay and display at the standard rates and can be very busy. As with most accomodation in the City of Lancaster the room cost can be higher but in general I do regard it real value for money staying here when everything taken into account. If your budget can stretch to it at the peek periods.

. Staff brilliant. Loved the paintings, like the doors! Your notice outside about take away food-maybe could be more obvious? I enjoyed the food. Everything seemed v clean.

The room made ticking noises-probably the heating? Not a real prob, just an observation. The bed felt a bit damp, after all the rain we’ve had, not surprised,

What a wonderful venue. The staff were attentive and the food fabulous. Amazing location and loved the feeling of being ‘off grid’ despite having perfect wifi.

It was freezing in the bedroom at night (time of year) but the luxurious duvet sorted that out!

It was a lovely surprise to see hens taking a stroll in front of our pod in the early morning

Good location, great helpful staff. Good and warm. Bar nice. 24 hour gym. Close to tram.

Dinner menu limited and expensive. Taps wonky. Shower reluctant to deliver hot water, fixed shower head made it difficult to wash without getting hair wet. Lighting too dim to read, don't want low light all the time. View was a brick wall and scaffolding. Some ventilation fan noise through pipes from other rooms (long after my fan went off). Breakfast nice but fried eggs tended to have set yolks. Gym could have more varied equipment rather than 6 identical running machines. 1cm gap around bathroom window frosting. Decor too understated, particularly corridors. Frosted layer obscured corridor windows - any view would be better. Would be nice if bars could stay open after 11. These are minor points.
