Super clean, well designed and pleasing to the eye. Well equipped (with exception of electric kettle) Good advice on where to eat out. Shetland ponies outside the hut. Good walking trail 100 yards away. Shower was hot.

However, I was never sent details as to how to find Miners Hut or how to negotiate the various security hurdles so had to resort to a chance request to a kindly neighbour for access. The telephone number provided by Booking.com was never answered. An electric kettle would avoid the need to have to try to make an induction hob work.

The location was good - easy to walk into Shanklin. Good parking facilities. The apartment had good facilities ie. washing machine, dishwasher.

The bed was very soft and we would have preferred much harder mattress - personal choice. The bath was quite slippery for a shower so a mat to stand on would be safer. The apartment would also benefit with coat hooks near the door to hang wet coats on rather than the hooks in the cupboard under the stairs. The heating came on whilst we were there and there was no central control so we had to turn the thermo valves down on each radiator as it was so warm

Poor management reaction to issues with bed and ensuite (broken spring in mattress; toilet seat delaminating and unhygienic). Issues highlighted to staff at time and with a post-departure communication which received a dismissive response with excuses but no apologies. School Report "Could do better!".
