The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

We stayed here for 1 night to break up our journey home from the West Coast of Scotland to Yorkshire. A beautiful house, lovely comfortable room (Queen Mary), nice touch to have a little fridge with water and a good selection of tea and coffee etc. Only took 5/10 minutes to walk across into the town - sadly most things were shut by the time we arrived but a very historical town. Breakfast the following morning was simply superb, the best breakfast we had had on our 4 day trip across Scotland - it was better than the breakfast we had in a castle we stayed in! William was a fountain of tales of the history of the house and we only wish we had had a little longer to talk to him. If you need somewhere to stay in Jedburgh, even if just for one night, then Allerton House is certainly one to try to get booked into. Thank you Nina and William and your wonderful team - highly recommended.

Nothing to improve on a B&B stay.

Great location and easy to get around with the underground close by. The breakfast was pleasant but the staff are miserable and sadly don't smile. No name badges so can't name them. The swimming pool was a bonus and clean.

The view was awful and I was really sad that my request for a view was neglected. The bathroom was disappointing considering it had recently been refurbished. The shower is inadequate for purpose. I didn't like being bombarded with e-mails to upgrade my room and I am pleased I didn't upgrade as it was not worth the additional money.

Great for MCR - person on phone was super helpful and sorted our ID issue
Negative section of review
We did not realise photo ID was needed and it would have saved a lot of bother if it was requested at time of booking and through Booking.com as they state do not send personal info over whatsapp
