When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

All the staff were friendly, helpful and cheerful. Lewis on reception was particularly polite and helpful when we checked in as he asked about our plans and was able to give us directions to the venue we were visiting that evening. Food in the bar was delicious. Beds were the most comfortable hotel beds we have ever slept in! So nice to see a family room with proper beds (a huge double and a single) instead of one of those really uncomfortable spring sofa beds. Good location, secure car parking 5-10 minutes walk away and close to city centre.

Decor was a little dated, bathroom could do with being updated. Grouting was badly discoloured, mostly black. Bedroom carpet was badly stained.

Run by a wonderful couple . Cubbon house is a 5 mins walk from the ferry terminal. Ideal for those who to go out for the entire day, but their is a comfortable lounge on the ground floor. Our room was room 1 on the top floor was about 12 by 12 feet square. With a onsuite shower and toilet. Their are steep stairs so be aware if you are disabled. I can recommend Cubbon house to all active travellers.

Really good breakfast, rooms were tidy and clean. To the centre, only a short busride from the hotel, busses go evry 10 minutes from there,no problem at all. Kevin and Susan are perfect hosts, who love their thing to do and especially this Hotel. Perfect stay for us there in nice Edinborough. Quiet environment there in the Holyrood area.

There are 2 rooms on the ground floor, other ones only with higher steps in the other floors, but no problem for us.

Fantastic location in what was probably a beautiful building on the Brighton seafront. The lift is from the 1920s making it a nostalgic experience. They have Winston Churchill's chair (torn to bits) outside the lift. Staff are very nice and very helpful.

The whole hotel is badly in need of a huge revamp. It is stuck in the 70's and 80's and needs a large investment to bring it up to today's standards. Beds (mattresses) carpets, windows (are single glazed), walls (wallpaper is dated) the lobby, the restaurant all need work. A hotel chain like @1hotel could transform it into a beautiful eco-friendly world class venue, highlighting its beautiful architecture.

Perfect location for touring the city on foot, plenty of food options and nightlife within a short walk. Good car park next door with discount available.

Nothing, although set in what is now a rather unexciting location, however, it was convenient for my work.
