  The location is ideal for exploring Edinburgh. Private parking, for just a small additional fee. The honesty bar - seen other reviews stating the prices were high for this, in reality they were not, and it has a great supply of items. I'm a big fan of nice hotel showers, this one didn't disappoint. As a professional shower critic and reviewer this scored a solid 9/10.

  Had trouble with the TV connecting to the internet services correctly like Netflix, so could only access a few FREEVIW channels, but at the end of the day we weren't staying there to watch Netflix, so really not that much of a deal breaker! :)

  Well equipped, clean and modern room which was very functional. Quiet environment with rooms well away from the pub which was also quiet though. Pleasant views of the footpath along the nearby navigation canal. Meals were simple but good. Breakfast was particularly good.

  Staff were all super friendly and the room was lively and comfortable. We had dinner and breakfast on site and the food was all delicious. Plenty if parking and a lovely little marina to walk around at the rear of the hotel.

  Beautifully decorated and very welcoming.

  Difficult to contact the manager prior to our visit. Lots of rules and regulations and a £300 deposit fee for a two night stay which then takes 10 days to get back! The garden is very overlooked which didn’t bother us but in the summer could be irritating.
