Hotel is in a great position in the centre of Putney - Hight Street and train stations just steps away. Reception staff were welcoming, friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and great coffee was available at breakfast from the machine. Great shower.

Room was in a 'tired condition' a bit scruffy around the edges - glass shelf in bathroom coming unfixed from wall, so hanging down. Pillows were uncomfortably hard - asked cleaner for a softer option but was told none available, as they were all the same. Duvet for some reason, was very heavy and made for a restless sleep. Room was clean on arrival but I had a long stay and unfortunately subsequent cleaning, when I requested it (which was only a couple of times), was non-existent. The surfaces were not touched in the room and remained marked and dusty. The bathroom basin wasn't cleaned properly. The melamine covered shelving remained marked and dusty. The unsightly brown stain that was on the u bend of the toilet on arrival, remained there, although a little bleach would have removed it. I had to leave a note for the cleaner to change my bedding because it had not been done on a previous occasion, as I would have expected - this was done but the carpet, which was covered in bits, wasn't hoovered. Another concern, was the mugs in the room which remained the same - I could tell this because one of them had a small mark inside - they must have been washed in the bathroom which is unsanitary. Mugs should have been replaced with clean ones from a dishwasher. There was also an enormous amount of very loud banging about... doors etc., by the cleaner in the morning, making a lie in impossible. An unmanned Reception after 10pm - concerns of security.

Value for money considering the excellent location. Friendly staff. Easy check in and able to store bags so we could continue with our day. Comfortable basic room that suited our needs. High level of cleanliness. Good breakfast at additional cost.

Lack of an information pack ( for appliances , eating out , places to visit ) - Shower water temperature is of particular concern as one member of our group burned their hand so perhaps a sign warning of caution - being woken at 6.15 by the boat yard next to hotel .
