I do not hold the hotel's location against it, as I knew this when booking. I was a little disappointed that the hotel restaurant was not open on Sundays or Mondays -- two of the three evenings I was there.

Hotel Kohlpeter is a very well kept hotel, with friendly staff, in a quiet location. The location does mean that a tourist needs to learn Salzburg's bus system, or pay for a cab to get from the old city to the hotel. Walking from the hotel to the old city is entirely possible, but it takes about forty minutes -- which can be lovely in good weather.

The location was slightly further away from the center city which is a double edged sword. Like it that it was far because it was quiet but the convenience not so much for bus/public transport.

I liked that it was cozy and it met my basic needs for what I needed for travelling alone.

The hotel is very clean and the front desk staff was extremely helpful with honest advice on transportation since we were there on a holiday weekend. It's a quiet area so there is no late-night noise to disturb your sleep.

The hotel was located very conveniently. One of the staff at the reception was very helpful gave us a complete overview of how we should plan our time and also bus routes and various other information that helped us make the best use of our time in Salzburg. She completely set the tone for our stay there. Also, the hotel has adequate parking is set in a picturesque lane.

We weren't able to take advantage of the breakfasts because they started too late - we are early birds on vacation!

We loved this little cute cottage off the beaten path. It was fun to be in a neighborhood and discover gems nearby.

The breakfast was below my expectations: only cold items, no hot dishes or freshly prepared food, like vegetable salads, sausages, scrambled eggs etc, unless you are ready to pay extra, which is a bit strange at this price (€ 17). TV with German speaking channels only.

A decent hotel, in a green, peaceful neighborhood, a bit far from center/main train station (by public transport), but if you look for quiet, this is the place. It looks clean and well maintained. Good WiFi and AC. Nice staff.

The rooms are quite tired. The shower had very poor temperature control ranging between freezing and boiling, so it took a long time to get the shower adjusted correctly (this applied to both the rooms on our booking). On one of the rooms in our booking the bathroom regularly had a drain/sewer smell which must have been related to the pipework in the building.

Staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Location was conveniently reached from central Salzburg by frequent bus and hotel set in a very quiet residential area. A/C in the room enabled a comfortable stay. A lift is available from reception. Rooms were a very generous size, with plenty of storage. It felt safe and secure. We would stay here again.

More choices for breakfast for the rate that was being charged secondly they charged Euro 36 for our stay as Local Taxes. This was in addition to our regular bill. No where in Austria, we paid this charge separately whether in Vienna or Innsbruck. I am not sure as to why Salzburg local authorities charge something extra from the tourists.

Actually the bus station was away just 300 meters away. The Train station was 1 km away. Breakfast was ok. not much choice. personally felt that being family run hotel, breakfast rates were a little higher however, the staff were extremely polite and accommodating. The owner in fact told us about the history of the hotel which has been serving the clients to at least 200 years. they told us about the salzburg festival which was about to open and gave proper guidance

The reception staff was wonderful! She provided very good information and was so patient with each of our questions. It was so nice to have a restaurant attached to the hotel where we could enjoy a wonderful meal sitting outside the night we arrived. It was getting late and we had not eaten and so fantastic to have a meal before unloading our bags. Parking was great. Our room and the entire hotel was clean, comfortable and great. Breakfast was great! Loved the dining area where we ate. We highly recommend Hotel Kohlpeter!!
