Living area is amazing. Loved the fire! Breakfast provisions were generous. Peter was fantastic - couldn’t have been more attentive and helpful.

There is only one toilet in the house, and it's upstairs, which is slightly inconvenient.

The house is large and very comfortable for a family of 4 or even 5. Location is good ... some shops and restaurants nearby, and a short drive to Lilydale, a larger village with more facilities. Our host Peter was friendly and helpful.

Gorgeous house and great location. Arrived to a breakfast hamper in the kitchen which was well thought out and put together. Peter went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable on arrival even allowing us to check in early. Loved everything about the room and experience! Would stay again 12/10. Thanks Peter !

The property was stunning. Large and spacious, beautiful areas outside, a beautiful breakfast basket waiting upon our arrival. The host was so considerate and ensured our family had everything we needed. The location of the property is at the base of the mountain, so easily able to go to lookouts and wonderful restaurants. Highly recommended.

The best breakfast hamper we have ever come across. So much to choose from. Super helpful and friendly host. The kids absolutely loved the courtyards and beg daily to go back again. Very family friendly property that backs on from the chocolate factory which was an added bonus. So spacious and all the essentials provided

I loved everything about the Barn House. It is beautiful and spacious accommodation, and Peter couldn’t be more helpful as a host. Our welcome hamper of breakfast supplies was very helpful. I stayed here with my two children to visit relatives nearby and we are already looking forward to coming again. It is very handy being behind the chocolate cafe for coffees, snacks and light lunches, and it is only a very short walk up to the local shops should you want more. The accommodation is private and quiet, so excellent for relaxing and sleeping. Parking is never an issue either and the WiFi is good. I particularly loved sitting by the fireplace in the evenings. Overall, I highly recommend this place.

Thoroughly enjoyed our time at Montrose Barnhouse. Very spacious and comfortable. Cosy and warm with the gas log fire. Spoilt with options for breakfast. Peter is a great host and definitely looks after his guests.

Peter is a wonderful host. Welcome basket of breakfast goodies was very appreciated! House is cosy and comfortable. Loved the outdoor fire great for a night toasting marshmallows! Indoor fire cosy and warm. Location is very convenient for exploring. Lots to do in the local area…Yarra Valley, Olinda, Healesville all within a shirt drive. Would highly recommend!

We stayed for a month, as we travelled from the UK to visit family, I didn't like that the time went far too quickly, and we had to leave.

I loved it all, the size, the location, it was quiet, the back bedroom window looked out over the Dandadong mountain. Just yards from the front of the guest house was an amazing chocolate shop that serves coffee, tea, and soft drinks with gorgeous cakes, snacks, and scrumptious chocolates. There is also a play area just about 100 yards down the road, and local shops approximately 500 yards away, Public transport is regular, everything we needed was there. Peter, the owner, is a lovely host. He made sure we had everything we needed, nothing was too much trouble for him, but once we were settled in he left us to enjoy our stay, we knew he was there if we needed anything. Thank you so much Peter, we loved it.

Windows didn’t have fly screens so couldn’t open the windows without subjecting ourselves to the mercy of mozzies!

The property is amazing! It is very spacious and well furnished. The owner was really lovely and went above and beyond for our stay. Best part about it - there is a chocolate shop next door!

How short my visit was, I will have to go back.

Can not express how impressed I was by this stunning barn house, no words can describe the ambiance and beauty it has, you simply must go experience it for yourself. But not only is the barn house exceptional but so is the surrounding areas and there is so much to do and see. I will definitely be going back and can't wait until I do.
