Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

We loved the open nature of the Lodge - it was amazing to be able to fall asleep and wake up to rainforest sounds! The swimming holes were very popular with our kids!

SwitzerlandThe area had been heavily affected by typhoon in december. Roads were partially closed and only residents and those with booked rooms allowed through. Could not make it to cape tribulation. We were here in feb which is not the best season they say and with typhoon even worse. Being from Spain we were not really aware and a little more information upfront would have been nice. Anyway the huts were fine. Only the house down close to the entry had been hit by floods. All the residential areas kitchen and all were in perfect conditions.
Location is fantastic. In the middle of the rainforest. Eco huts very simple but comfortable. Netting to keep the bugs out. Incredible the noises at night. All sorts of creatures out there. Just like camping in the middle of the forest but in the comfort of a room with bed and shower. Really nice experience. The swim down in Noah’s creek is amazing, refreshing really in the rainforest and you can walk up to a bigger swim hole 300 m upstream. Kitchen and bbq area fully equipped. Wifi and electricity in this area. Huts have only small light and ubs charging points. Best bring your own food to cook. Lots of walks and hiking around the area. Beach close by, beautiful views but no swimming due to stingers and crocodiles. Staff very friendly and eager to give advice and help you get used to what is a very different environment to what we were used to.

CanadaThe whole place was magical. We loved bathing in the outdoor shower and bath surrounded by tropical plants. We were here not long after cyclone Jasper hit, so most places in Daintree were closed and there were no other guests. We had to cancel a few tours we booked because of the cyclone but we think that was a blessing in disguise since it gave us time to relax, cook delicious meals in the outdoor kitchen, cool off in the swimming hole a few minutes walk away, walk north along the closed road, helped clear some of the deadfall along one of the trails (we volunteered). There were so many different rainforest sounds in the day and at night. The 5 nights we were there we didn’t use our car to get anywhere, other than when we arrived and left! We will be back one day in the future.

Really nicely built and finished. You feel really close to nature but with all the comfort of a high end hotel, we felt like we experienced more of the daintree here than we did on any tour

AustraliaPrivate property in the Daintree national park with great walks. Walks were graded and suitable for all levels. Eco huts were wonderfully basic with plenty of protection from mosquitoes, and the indoor-outdoor bathroom was fantastic! The camp kitchen is fully stocked; the only thing they don’t have is ice for the Eski they provide. Service was awesome. Saw a chameleon gecko, Cassowary and lace monitor!

AustraliaThere could have been a few extra things in the kitchen like butter, mayo, cheese grater etc that would’ve been really helpful and prevented waste.
Amazing location and the perfect place to enjoy the Daintree and unwind. Swims in the creek every morning were the best way to start the day!

AustraliaThe hut was just a tiny bit small - not much room for luggage. The outside patio was great but with such heavy rain, we couldn't leave anything outside on the deck.

AustraliaThe sign-posting for the walks needs to be seriously updated as we got lost many times and heard the same from other guests when we came across each other in the communal kitchen. I am sad that there was no mention at all that we were on Kuku Yalanji country and the absence of any mention is consistent with the attitudes I came across from white people in northern Queensland. I am white too - but having grown up in South Africa under apartheid, before it was thankfully eradicated in 1991, I felt like I had gone back to the past .

New ZealandWe loved the location in the forest, although a little close to the main road, but that was not too bad at night when it was time to go to sleep. We stayed in the Ochre Hut and this was just fabulous, better than all expectations, loved it, had everything you need for the perfect glamping retreat. We also saw the resident Cassowary, she was very big and very lovely indeed. Sat around our own private fire every evening and at night we slept very very well, comfortable bed and all the night time forest calls were just magic.
