Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandNot many restaurants nearby and the guest parking charge was high. The streets surrounding the hotel are all quite steep and a number of roads to cross to get to shops.
Comfortable with good size room and bathroom. Good bed and big screen TV. The restaurant and bar were good with great views of the harbour bridge. Breakfast was usual fare, with plenty of options. Good location on the north sydney side, easy 20min walk to the ferry for circular quay. Shopping stores nearby for any essentials and take away food.

ChinaThe Bathroom does not reach the standard of 4 star, too small and I did not see the ventilation work. Fitness is okay, it would be great if a few dumbbells can be set up.
Really nice view from the room! Particularly night view of Sydney bridge! Breakfast is awesome and you can enjoy the fabulous views while having breakfast!

AustraliaNo fan in the bathroom which was kind of strange. Also took us 24 hours to work out how the automatic lights in the room worked.
Room on Level 4 was fantastic. View amazing, especially at night it was mesmerising. Great location next to North Sydney train station. Bed was like sleeping on a cloud, and pillows so good. I slept so well and ready for the next day of sightseeing. Highly recommend this location for ease of access, comfort, clean and good value for so being so close to CBD.

- Large panoramic window, with fantastic view of Sydney harbour. - Good location near McMahons Point (cafes) & Nth Syd metro. Only a short train or car ride to downtown. - Lovely large comfortable bed, with nice linens & pillows. - Comfy towels & nice toiletries. - Very good ‘in-room’ dining menu & food quality. - Great value hotel.

AustraliaNight noises subway underneath. I was told to book online to possibly get a cheaper rate, but became more expensive than booking with the motel itself. I did not get a discount on referral from Animal eye clinic Artarmon when they referred me there to stay with our crated dog overnight. Some of The PowerPoints in the room were not working and phone charger was loose in socket and jug in room was not able to work in its tea/coffee nook because of socket being loose.
Was only pet friendly accommodation available at short notice

United StatesThe exterior wasn’t amazing and I felt that the breakfast was a bit overpriced but it was good. I’ve had breakfast that was just as good for free. Albeit in Turkey.
It lived up the the name because the view was amazing. We didn’t have a balcony or anything but we had a room with a big window and amazing view that almost looked fake because it was so nice. The room itself was good too. It was the best hotel room ever or anything but for the price and location it was good. The fact there is a train station next to the hotel can’t be understated.

AustraliaWe were visiting family, so everything we needed was close by. if you need to be in the city this is not the best place. However, there is a train station just down stairs and a little way up the street. So, that works too.
The accommodation was in a great location for our needs. It has fabulous views of Sydney Harbour and is easy to access. the restaurant is a very good breakfast option. Dinner was good value for money, it is not a top-end fine dining facility but is very good and reasonably priced. North Sydney and Lavender Bay are fabulous inner city locations during the day, we were staying with elderly parents and needed to be close at hand. The hotel was very accommodating.

AustraliaHave stayed here a couple times and this was the worst room I’ve ever stayed in (room 314) - we have had some excellent rooms with the most amazing views but this time not so lucky. Not just because it was lower level but more because it was up the very end of the building and the only view was over the train track. We asked if there was another room available and was told there wasn’t unless we upgraded. We had already upgraded and paid for a Skyline King Room which was supposed to have a city view so didn’t think I needed to or should pay even more to upgrade - the room definitely didn’t have a proper city view! Also, being lower level did mean that we heard and felt the trains going under. Love the location but unsure what we’ll do next time.
Location is excellent with the train station next door and the Milsons Point Ferry terminal a lovely short walk away. Also, very handy to Kirribilli for good cafes and restaurants.
