A cute little retreat with 4 cabins available. We were far enough away from each cabin that we still felt secluded. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. Fresh bread was delivered each morning which was a beautiful touch. It was close to many beautiful wineries and places to eat. We went on several walks around the retreat, beautiful Australian scenery. Everything was clean and neat. The bed was comfortable too. We will definitely be back. Next time we will hire bikes to explore the riesling trail more.

The location was fantastic. The peace and quiet. The fresh baked loaf of bread delivered to the door every morning was amazing. Highly recommend couples who want a lovely weekend away without the kids to stay at Watervale Retreat.

Air conditioning was only in lounge, did not extend to bedrooms. Beds were not very comfortable.

It was so quiet and peaceful you can here the birds of a morning and not woken by the noise of other people in the accommodation the views breathtaking and the fresh baked bread of a morning was to die for.

The road in rather windy Take care. Also nearly drove straight past and easy to mistake entry to reception area as entry to the cabin areas. This is not super high class accomodation but darn good and worth every penny and more. Garry

The attention to detail. All the little things were there eg a night light when looking for the loo in the dark. All the equipment one needs were there eg little torch. The cabin was very clean. Ample breakfast items were supplied, including freshly baked bread delivered in the morning. A litre of milk plus juice was in the fridge which has room for icepacks. There is a 2 element induction stove top for cooking with dishes and utensils, a coffee machine and microwave. Attention to detail is appreciated with a night light in the bathroom and 2 hooks on the back of the bathroom door for dressing gowns or clothing. The bathroom also has an exhaust fan with heat so people don't shiver after their shower. There are only 4 cabins, not too close together so it's peaceful and private and they are kept very clean.

Nothing - I would love to stay here again!

The owners have a genuine love for their property and the region - and provide fresh bread daily. The cabins are set in beautiful surrounds which create a feeling of privacy to sit on the deck for a coffee, meal or glass of wine. Everything you might need has been thought of, including enough utensils to cook either in the kitchen or using the BBQ facilities. The cabin was clean and fresh, with a comfy bed and lounge/dining area.

Great location. Loved the birdsongs in the morning and the Kookaburra laugh. Tracey was very lovely, and receiving warm homemade bread reminded me of childhood.

Short but Steep slope to park car by cabin.. on gravel. We tended to skid.

Very rural and peaceful as advertised. Well equipped kitchen. Easy drive into clare and surrounding facilities. Fresh bread provided for breakfast. WIFI good but TV. Felt very relaxed style was a bit dated but seemed in keeping.

The location was beautiful and the hosts Tracey and David were lovely and genuine. The cabin was clean and tidy, with fresh bread brought to the door every morning. The Riesling trail is just down the road, with scenic views all the way to Clare. The electricity went out due to no fault of the hosts but a storm. Tracey and David came and checked on us and were kind and generous. Thank you :)

The peace and quiet and laid-back atmosphere of the retreat is something you don't want to leave. David and Tracey's attention to detail and cleanliness of the cottages is exceptional and we will definitely be back. This is now our go-to accommodation in the Clare Valley. Oh, did I mention the freshly baked bread delivered to the veranda every morning...

We spent two nights there..The cabin was very clean and stocked with everything we could have needed for our stay..breakfast was included and also received a loaf of fresh baked bread each morning..It was located approximately 30 minutes drive from Clare and lots of wineries..I'll definitely be going back there again..
