How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The only thing there really is to complain about is the view from the window. The apartment is opposite to a hotel meaning that the view is towards a building. Not much light in the room. It also took a while for me to figure out how to get in to the apt through the app. However, once done, it is an easy system.
Very nice apartment in the city centre. I did not have huge expectations on my arrival, but this was an exceptionally nice property in Tampere. Very close to the railway station. East access to grocery stores. The apartment was very clean modern and quiet. Very good value for your money. I will definitely come back. Recommend highly, better than any regular hotel in the city.

The app, how to get the keys took a while to figure out.
The apt was clean and close to the train. Also shampoo and other items were available like tea and coffee. The apt was very quiet due to well built isolation in the windows. Please note, this is a recidential building and you will meet neighbours. I would rate five stars in all, except for the view.

Really minor things: * Add a check-in time into information SMS as well for such people like me :) * Oven is good, but oven gloves were missing. We had to be creative. * I suggest to add to the short instructions, that in microwave mode ONLY THE GRILL should be used inside the oven. Otherwise this may lead to the damages of equipment if guests are not familiar with that system. * No view from the window (another building cross the street). Was not at all important for us, but just in case. * While door opening system is handy and creative, sometimes it doesn't worked good and it took couple of attempts to open the door. Not a big deal (we also had keys), but worth checking the lock. * Bed is comfy, but upper mattress is made from 2 parts, not a single large one (i.e. it is 2 x (90x200), not 180x200). Might be important for someone. * Either one of the shower's doors was somewhat too short, or we didn't got how to use it.
Everything went well: * Door opened via webapp (no installation needed), instructions are clear. * Host managed to make apartment available 1 hour earlier (I've made a mistake with check-in time and came too early). * Friendly host staff. * Fast Wi-Fi for those who need it (from phone I've got around 100 Mbit/s in speedtest). * TV with Netflix. * Good shower, especially this upper shower head + warm floor (remember to set it to the temperature you like (#5 creates a hot-house in a couple of hours) - and return back to nominal when you leaving). * Good sound insulation, i.e. room was quiet. * Good blinds on windows, which is very important in Finland during summer. * Funny combined oven + microwave (with tiny caveat, see below). * Finally I was able to try that sofa with "wing" (have no idea what is the right name of it). Now I have a feeling that some furniture store waits for me :)

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room looks exactly same as the listing photos. Super clean & tidy fully equipped apartment, the beds are very comfortable and specious bathroom. Everything is in super good condition. Centrally located, 4mins walk to train station and approx. 10mins walk to city centre. Highly recommend to others.

Check in was ridiculously complicated. I had booked the apartment for 2 people and the owner mentioned when we struggled to check in with incorrect codes and strange instructions that we needed to pay €5 euros extra for 2 people .This was his misunderstanding not ours.I found it really embarrassing as I had booked the apartment. We were the ones inconvenienced not being able to check in-yet he was going on about €5 euros! Don’t think the apartment is suitable for techophobes or older people due to the difficult check in process .
