Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwedenThe spa facility was a little small, only a cold pool and small and only free in the morning.
Kind staff, good breakfast, modern facility, bathtub.

SwedenThe room was very hot at night. I didn't like that you could only use the sauna and pool for free in the morning.
The breakfast buffet was great with a lot of variety. The location was very close to town but still very quiet at night. The sauna facilities were also nice and not crowded.

SwedenBe aware that views are not a selling point. One of our rooms looked into the other building, the other room had an obstructed view. Rooms are also slightly on the small side for the stars that the hotel has, but the price balances that. We were there in the winter, gray and gloomy days and on Sunday nearly everything around was closed, otherwise, it is a great location, just be prepared for winter Sundays. There were two things that I missed, not necessarily that I did not like it, but mention here for those who may think like me, to be prepared. For vegetarians, breakfast was on a slightly simple side, particularly for the savory options. Also, everything was cold, including the bread. A warm porridge, vegan scrumble, or even just warm milk for the cereal would have been appreciated on offer. Likely that we would have gotten warm milk if asked, though, as the staff was attentive and kind. Secondly, as much as I loved the swimming pool itself, the setup was not ideal. Opening hours are a bit short, overlap with breakfast and it can only have 8 persons at a time. More importantly, have slippers, and perhaps a robe, if you plan to use the pool/sauna, especially in the winter. Not ideal to go there in the winter shoes as the changing space starts pretty much straight after the entrance area. And take the room towel with you.
The staff was helpful, very attentive and kind, handling several languages with ease. The hotel was peaceful, neat and charming. The rooms were clean and modern, quiet. We appreciated extra pillows, kettle, teas... Enough plugs in the room. Neat bathroom with ecolabel vegan soap. General sustainability work and awareness. The dining room was charming and cozy. The swimming pool was a great addition to our short family break on a gloomy winter day. It was the reason why we chose this hotel over the other options. Lovely sauna can be booked, for the extra charge, through the day. We used it in the morning, but if we stayed longer would probably have done it some evening. Easy parking and generally well placed in the city. Rejuvenating is how I would sum up our stay at the hotel. Would recommend it and would come back.

FranceThe hotel was wonderful! However, if I were to give a few tips to the manager, I would say to focus on the details in the room. The cups in our room were reusable plastic and could be glass instead, the tea and coffee in the room could be a bit more elevated. Upgrading small details like those could make the stay even better in the future!
We stayed at the Park Alandia for two nights over New Year's and loved the property. From the breakfast to the sauna facilities the hotel is a great value and offers a relatively modern interior right in the center of Mariehamn.

FinlandEverything was fresh, clean and maintained with care. All the food was delicious, I tried a la carte and a couple breakfasts. We stayed in a suite of two adults and two school aged kids. The hotel has a small beautiful indoor pool with a sauna that we booked privately at a very reasonable price.

FinlandDid not like that the door didn't close properly. The cleanliness of the bathroom was not exactly good. The last night we didn't get sleep because the other guests in our corridor couldn't be quiet at 3-4am. The bar and restaurant was just not open to hotel guests, which caused unpleasant noises at times.
The staff was very accomadating. The gluten-free breakfast was a pleasant surprise. The location was excellent and our room was good as well.

FinlandThe room was quite hot. The windows were equiped with shades, but on a hot summer day air conditioning would have been a must.
The accessible bathroom was well equiped. There were also accessible door openers to and from the room. It was also a plus that the taxi station was right by the hotel. This made it easy to get a taxi, which could take the wheelchair onboard.
