Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

ItalyExcellent, cozy and warm place to stay in Helsinki. Jane, the owner, has been very kind to us, super friendly. The apartment is 5 minutes walking from the famous street food & market of Helsinki and the ferries departure to Suomenlinna and boat sightseeing tours. 10 minutes walking from the city center. 2 tram station at 2 minutes from the apartment. 15 minutes from the main train station. There is a super market right next to the apartment where to buy a good breakfast to enjoy in the morning. Super.

United KingdomI very much enjoyed my stay at Jana's lovely place on Vironkatu. Jana was a wonderful host, very friendly and helpful. She kindly met me upon my arrival to facilitate things and hand over the keys. The flat is small but smartly designed and tastefully decorated. I've stayed in dozens of guest apartments over the years but Jana's flat really stands out by being so well equipped with everything that you might need for your stay. Jana has put a lot of thought and effort into making the apartment comfortable for her guests. It's tiny details such as a jar full of cookies on the kitchen table, a soft and beautiful Marimekko throw, lots of hooks everywhere for clothes and towels, or a bottle of micellar water in the bathroom cabinet that make you appreciate Jana's place and her thoughtfulness. Thank you.

United KingdomThe bed was comfy and warm, however the duvet was a little bit small for the size of the bed, but it was not a huge deal, just something to be aware of.
The property was very cute and in a great location. The wee kitchen was very well equipped, there was even oil and salt and pepper already there, so we didn't need to buy anything. There was shampoo and shower gel for us to use in the shower and a hairdryer, which is small touches that made staying there easier.

United KingdomThe fridge would make noises intermittently and there was also something in the building that we couldn't identify, but also made strange noises like clockwork every once in a while 24 hours a day. As a sensitive person/sleeper this was difficult for me to get used to on the first night, and it woke me up throughout the night. The WiFi worked for my partner but I couldn't get onto it for some reason, so I just used my partner's hotspot.
I could tell that the host went above and beyond to make the apartment comfortable for our stay. Lots of extra blankets and pillows, Easter surprises hidden around the kitchen, coffee and tea, eye masks and earplugs, a first aid kit, etc. It was very clean and we also appreciated all the toiletries in the shower. I also liked the basket of free tourism info about Helsinki in multiple languages; that was very thoughtful. The apartment was sunny and warm and cozy.

We spent 3 nights in the facility. Its location is great, right in the city center, walkable everywhere. The apartment is clean, warm and wonderfully equipped with all possible appliances. The owner actually took care of all the residents' needs. She greeted us kindly, let us into the facility earlier than we agreed, so we didn't have to freeze outside. I highly recommend this place.

Jana, the host, was very attentive and friendly. She made us feel very welcomed. She provided great tips and the apartment was very clean and had all of the tools necessary to keep it clean. The rules were few and easy to follow.
