Good location and price

Wasn't made aware there was a private party that night at the time of booking, so we could not use the restaurant. We had no choice but to eat in the bar with my family and 3 year old child while rowdy drunks are shouting obscenities at the top of their lungs. We were only advised 2 days after making the booking that there was a private party, and when I asked if I could cancel and rebook elsewhere I was told it was a non refundable room and therefore I would lose all my money if I chose to go elsewhere.

My stay was lovely the only thing that let my stay down was other guesses, I was woken up at 5.30am to children and people shouting. Also they was very loud till late on the night. I over heard other guesses coming out to tell them to keep the noise down also. Other than that my stay was beautiful thankyou.

Spa and Jacuzzi where unavailable during our stay which we where really looking forward too we where notified via booking.com messages 4 days before our stay but did not see the message because we was sent it at 1am, we where told on arrival but by then we had no choice but to stay so was a bit gutted about that

Breakfast was amazing we really liked the selection of food and hot drinks to get us going in the morning

The room was quite small and the door wasn't easy to close.

It took so over 1 hour to receive our milk and biscuit portions to arrive after going down to the reception desk requesting said items,we just got dressed and went into town

The property was good but the bathroom items and to be asked for Like shower cap etc should already be in the bathroom

Few bits in the bathroom were a bit tired, Skirting along the shower was flaking & just need a lick of paint. Bathroom blind was broken & looked a tatty - simply things to fix & make it better.

Good Location & service on check in was good - we got there a bit before check in time & they were happy for us to check in. Rooms were nice & clean & a good size. Bed was comfortable.

Smell of weed in the car park. Came back from a concert to use the bar and people were in there eating KFC.

the fact the spa facilities were closed thats was part of the reason they did call me the day before however that was to late to change the booking

Room we had was very small for two people not suitable at all ,where the other room our family had was fine.

Some aspects are a little dated and require some TLC. For example, the sink shelf is at an angle in the bathroom so you can't use it, and the gym was very compact but very usable.

Spa facilities were nice and the rooms were clean. We arrived early but were allowed to use the spa and gym facilities which was nice. Secure car park and nice garden to enjoy a drink and the nice weather.

Restaurant / bar is pricey. Shame the spa is in a separate building as you have to get fully dressed to go there. Jacuzzi wasn’t working. Our keycard slot in the room was so loose that we had to put a couple of cards in the keep the power on. We mentioned this when we left.

Car parking was ample. Breakfast was good. Staff were efficient. We were upgraded to a family room as there were functions on both nights we were staying and the hotel gave us a room away from the noise without us asking. Sauna and steam rooms were a bonus.

The spa was in a separate building and was sadly a little lower in quality than the hotel.

We were not impressed that the hotel was being used as a court during the daytime, and most of the facilities are off-bounds during the day, until 5pm. We even had to go ‘the long way round’ to get to our room, and there was a security guard sat almost adjacent to our room due to the court. The restaurant was also very poorly presented, cold and not welcoming at all. However; as mentioned, the food was far better than what we had imagined and expected.

The location was absolutely perfect for us and the hotels grounds and buildings were very grand, clean and well presented. The restaurant food was exceptional and definitely the highlight of the stay, we really didn’t expect the quality to match the atmosphere.

Spa facilities were great and unlike many such hotels, the times allocated to allow children in the pool, where fair. Food was very good too.
