“This hotel was almost perfect. The room size is good, with a nice bathroom with big bath tub. All rooms are on high floors, so you get a great view of the city - even if the cityscape isn't a particularly pretty one.
There's an excellent breakfast with a mix of western food and Chinese food, including noodle stations, pancake stations, etc. I never expect hotels in China to speak English, especially not somewhere so few foreigners visit like Xining, but was pleasantly surprised to discover that most staff did speak English to a good level. They also gave us good local restaurant recommendations.
I didn't get a chance to use the gym or pool, but had a peak round the corner and was impressed by the quality of the facilities.
I don't think you'll find many five star hotels that are so affordable.”
“The female staff at the hotel was exceptionally accommodating. She efficiently arranged for my pre-ordered mails upon my arrival in XiNing, and provided thorough guidance on commuting to the train station and to nearby markets for shopping clothes and fresh produce. Moreover, she graciously upgraded my room without any additional cost.”
“The property is listed on booking.com as 2 star, but I would think of it more like 3 star. The location is a bit away from the centre, but there are plenty of restaurants nearby, and there is ample parking available. The staff are very friendly and helpful, as are most Chinese service organisations. The rooms are reasonable size to spread out with a few suitcases. Breakfast is Chinese style, but there is ample choice and a self-service coffee automat with various styles of coffee.”
“The staff were very kind and helped me when I was unwell. Even though we didn’t share the same language it was possible to communicate using translation tools. Thank you for your invaluable assistance! Great location for local museums.”
