“Beautifully renovated 270-old house with all the modern comfort. Extremely helpful professional staff. In a centrally located ancient city of Pingyao, but off the mob of tourists roads”
“An unforgettable lodging experience! This hostel mesmerized us with its well-preserved historical courtyard, making us feel as if we were living in a museum, steeped in charm and history. We had the pleasure of staying in both the room in the main courtyard and the Yaodong room. Each room was spacious, featuring super large, comfortable beds that ensured a restful night's sleep.
The cleanliness and service at the hostel were impeccable. Every area was maintained spotlessly. The staff were warm and always eager to assist, making us feel truly welcomed.
I highly recommend this hostel, particularly in the winter. Its perfect blend of historical elegance, modern comfort, and the added beauty of snow make it an unparalleled choice. Looking forward to my next visit!”
“The Elsewhere hotel was a little gem: it felt like were were staying at one of the ancient buildings we saw around town, while still having the comfort of a modern hotel room. I would recommend accepting the pick up service offered from the train station, since it's quite far from the hotel: we were greeted by Alice, who spoke excellent English and who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, even booking the tickets for the city's attractions with her own phone and account when mine didn't want to cooperate. We went to Ping Yao to experience ancient China, and came away with the experience of a lifetime.”
“This hotel is very near Zhonglou street, a must go street during the night. A happening street with plenty of eateries and shops in the middle of the Bell Tower area.”
“The hotel has a central location in the historical town of Pingyao within the city walls and it is within an old building therefore it gives a flavour of how the ancient city was like in the past. The rooms are comfortable and the staff is very kind, they offer a free pick-up and drop-off service from the railway station.”
“Historical Yan Hua Temple & popular eateries of Datong are all within walking distance from the hotel. It located within walking street, You need to get driver to stop at 严华饭店&walk to the barrier to reach here. Here I must really say a big thank you for the staff who we met during checkout. She has went extra miles to assist my husband to search for his lost wallet and promptly follow up.”
